The reason everyone's alt mode always has a cockpit or driver's seat even on Cybertron is so smaller bots like Rumble and Frenzy can pilot them manually.

 

That doesn't make sense though.

 

Either does having a cockpit as a fully autonomous vehicle. That's the only logical conclusion I could come too.

Agreed completely. My explanation for the cockpits is both more logical and more wacky. I feel your pain man.

I always rationalized that in my head canon by saying that Vector Sigma stored vehicle modes from across the galaxy from back when Cybertron had more contact with the rest of the galaxy, and assigns them as new Transformers were created. Because of that many if not most of those vehicle modes have cockpits or piloting areas for smaller life forms.

 

You could be right. I think had cockpits or piloting areas because some early robots (who maybe never became transformers) on Cybertron could have been around Rumble's height and this was a way to transport them around and a failsafe if necessary.

On Vector Sigma, I do not think that VS created any new transformers (Autobots at least) after Orion Pax became Optimus Prime (as per OP dialogue in the Key to Vector Sigma part 1 episode). As such, when Bumblebee says something like 'Prime told me there would be days like these' to Wheeljack in the opening scenes of More Than Meets The Eye, it was because he had completely lost his memory a relatively short time before that episode.

In my world, defensor and menasor are rivals as well as bruticus and superion being rivals. This works on a multitude of levels. The "sors" as well as I feel like the civilian nature of the protectobots would cause them to be severely outclassed by the combaticons. The potential rivalry of alpha bravo and potential brother vortex. Finally as far as toys go, the auxilary legends toys both form chest plates for the Sors and the legends are guns for superion and bruticus

Thank you. Its not perfect but it works in my book. As time goes on, it's less important that the stunticons be the decepticons only ground troops as this is clearly not true. Ditto that there are also several other flying autobots.

 

Punch/ Counterpunch has Perception Filters installed in both modes......with both modes hard to pay much attention to the back......both modes also have a few other counter measures to keep cover (neural chafes to stun witnesses, cloaking device to further keep cover while switching Robot modes)

 

That's my head canon. They're gendered on what type of spark they have.
