Headcanon regarding the renaming, restyled mold, and faction-switching of Airwave for the 10-pack

After the War for Cybertron had wrapped up, Airwave, like any good businessman, realized he had an opportunity to take advantage of a changing world. So he did, ditching his old body and faction, rebuilding himself with a new body and a better-looking public image. However, he panicked when he realized that his former comrades would recognize his name and seek revenge for all the times he fucked them over. So he changes his name to Overair, advertising himself and his airbase as a legitimate business venture.

 

Blue Bluestreak isn't ACTUALLY Bluestreak. It's Prowl in disguise. He opted for a less conspicuous form so that he could venture forth without the attention his police car getup attracts. Because Prowl strikes me as the type who might enjoy the respect it affords him, but then tires of the bother. Also: Prowl isn't a cop! He's a friggin military strategist. And why blue, you ask? It's a color commonly associated with intelligence and wisdom, which Prowl has in spades. Also pointing out that the Masterpiece toy (which is where I got the idea) uses Prowl's head instead of Bluestreak's.

 

Prowl may be intelligent but he most certainly isn't wise.

 

Fusion cannons are banned by Cybertronian war treaties. Of course, this has not deterred Megatron one bit.

 

Micromasters are the result of an error that occurs during the earliest stages of a protoform, causing it to generate a much smaller body than usual. . This is why they turn into tiny cars, etc.

 

Micromaster Rodimus and Hot Rod/Rodimus are not the same.

During a visit to one of the many Micromaster cities that had popped up on Cybertron, Hot Rod stumbled across a new protoform that had decided to scan for its new body. Hot Rod got scanned, and the little guy was almost like a clone of him, albeit tinier.

Also, the Hot Rod Patrol were the worst Autobot Micromasters you could meet during the war. They're comparable to a mafia but technically work for/under Countdown, though its not like Countdown notices, he's too busy commanding and doing heroic stuff. Stakeout does notice though, but keeps silent because he'd rather not be on their bad side. And he may or may not get paid in energon rations.

They were infamous among the Decepticons, and if you were a Decepticon that got caught by them, you'd disappear with no trace left behind.

 

G1 Soundwave transforms into a small object (cassette player) because that is his punishment for failing to complete one of Megatron's orders.

 

The micromasters are the precursors to the Maximals and Predacons.

 

I have a reasoning for the Bayformer's unique looks:

Cybertron in the Bay movies has a hotter, more dense atmosphere than Earth. As seen in the Bee movie, on Cybertron their bodies were more boxy and solid. This helped them to keep their fragile circuitry from overheating and being crushed by pressure. When they got to Earth, their bodies adapted, and shifted to the jagged forms seen in the first three movies. As for AOE and TLK, they simply continued to adapt.

 

Decepticon-allied humans smuggled the Constructicons onboard the ship that led them to Megatron's remains.

Adding to this: that punishment is self imposed. Even Megatron can't get him to stop.

 

Hauler used to be a buddy of the Constructicons, ideally I'd basically combine his E-Hobby character and Devastar / Scavenger from Armada.

Nemesis Prime is from an alternate timeline. Instead of being found and rebuilt by Alpha Trion, a young Orion Pax was swayed by the prospects of power promised to him by Unicron for being his herald. Orion, consumed with the desire for revenge and fueled by hatred (Ariel dies in this time line) readily takes the Chaos Matrix and becomes Nemesis.

 

I wonder if they ever got together to at least write some fan fiction. I hate cliff hangers.

 

Armada Smokescreen died and never came back. "Hoist" is just a fabrication made by Rad (as Armada's story is told from his perspective) to cope with the trauma of seeing his friend die a gruesome death at such a young age.

 

the starscream's ghost two parter happens with blitzwing instead of octane. it was written as a follow up episode to blitzwing being banished from the decepticons in five faces of darkness, and offered a spot on the autobots, but hasbro wanted to sell octane who was the newer toy, so it was hastily redone with him. the story doesn't really make much sense with octane, so i prefer to imagine it as it was originally intended, with blitzwing in the story.

 

G1 cartoon:

- The Primacron episode isn’t canon. Unicron’s origin has something to do with the Transformers and the Matrix of Leadership.

- The Quintessons are born humanoid and, for much of their history, remained humanoid for life like humans do. Some graft their faces onto those things. Their humanoid roots are why they made the Transformers humanoid.

 

Transformers can convert some of their bodies at the molecular scale, meaning if you take optimus prime apart in truck mode you will not find a head or hands, and if you take him apart in robot mode you will not find any leather seats or steering wheel. This is enabled by the t-cog, which houses the general electromagnetic commands for the body of the cybertronian. Most t-cogs can only store up to two modes, but triple changers and so on differ. Energon flows between the molecules of the living metal like veins, and can reconfigure a transformers shape upon command from the t-cog. Energon also provides a neural network. Also no mass shifting allowed
