    Looking at this thread:

What is your favourite ‘terrible’ figure

Kind of gets me thinking of the exact polar opposite... of what your least favorite ‘amazing’ transformers figure? One that is generally considered a great figure, and everyone had nothing but praises for it... except you, who just can't find yourself liking it that much, for any reason.

For me, I just can't find myself loving Siege Jetfire as much as everyone else nowadays. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good figure and great valuer for its price, but I dunno... he's a bit too big for me? Not to mention for how big he was, he's also kind of simplistic and hollow-feeling? He's the first Commander class, and when I mess with some of the latter ones I got such as Kingdom Rodimus Prime, Legacy Armada Prime, or even ER Sky Lynx that came out a year after... it kinda shows, for better or worse.

SS rotb opitmus, I don't know he just fine in robot mode but truck is just boring and the transformers of him is Godawful why is studios series alway make the flim bots be as the most complex figure in modern lines unlike the more fun and smart transformation In say legacy or SS86 ?

    SS 86 Grimlock.

    He big…he look the part….and that’s it?

Like I’m not a big Grim fan, I’m a Snarl girl so let me say that first.

When I got G2 Grim? He just felt kinda weird to me and didn’t live up to the hype that a lot of people showed for 86/the mould so far.

I thought the SG deco looked pretty sick, but the mold design itself is blah. The G1 deco shelf-warmed in my area. I didn’t even want it when discounted. It looks dime-store cheap.

lol I don’t know if I’d go quite that far, but I do agree that he has a cheap feel that caught me off guard.

Like his plastic is thin/weak to make up for him being so big? I don’t know, he just feels odd when I hold him.

Maybe Leader RotF Optimus? It's definitely impressive, but I found it really poor to handle, both transforming and posing. I prefer the heft and simplicity of the Movie 1 Leader or just the refined detail of the Studio Series Voyager mold.

More recently, I find myself souring on the Siege Starscream mold. It may not be revered as a masterpiece of a figure, but people much prefer it to the ER mold, so I think it could count. Something about the joints (notably, knees, elbows and backpack hinge) just feel creaky on both Starscream and Hotlink, and their transformation isn't very fun. Also, something about the intense surface detailing just bothers me in a way that none of the other Siege toys do. I'm not going to say the ER mold is better, but I don't know if I really love either of them.

SS-38 Optimus. It was never good. The transformation never felt solid to me and I just didn't like how the robot mode looked. The truck mode is fine though. I never thought it was worth the hype.

Oh man, my contrarian ass has so many and I'll try and raddle off my "whys"...

SS Concept Megatron - A half baked messed that fails in every regard as a Transformer with his only saving grace is that he kinda looks cool.

RotB SS Optimus - All they had to do was slightly tweak SS-38 (a figure I really like) but instead, they decided to re-invent the wheel and it blew up in their face with an over all uglier, less functional figure.

Earthrise/Legacy Soundwave - A bad figure that is over hyped cause he's been rare for years. Siege Soundwave doesn't work as a base for a cassette soundwave and the retooling they did was ultimately wasted as its still a mess, really needs a ground up redo.

Legacy Menasor - A combiner that has (IMO) one good component and doesn't actually combine but requires the purchase of $100 worth of Gap Fillers.

Pretty much all of the BB Cybertron figures - Idk, I just found them very bland and most of them didn't clock in over a 5/10 in terms of quality.

    Probably Jhiaxus.

Great articulation and always cool when a comic character gets a figure but just an ugly bot with an unappealing color scheme.

Lots of Optimus and Bumblebee figures. Being that they're popular, they generally get pretty well-done figures across all lines - but I'm so bored of those two characters.

There might be too many to list, for me, due to my collecting tendencies - like, I'm not a fan of, "severe," cartoon accuracy, large figures, or most Transformers Combiners, really (in terms of being toys, that is; I do love them, as fictional characters), so...that's all of the Titan Class figures, Combiners, and stuff like Studio Series '86 Grimlock, War for Cybertron Trilogy Soundwave, et cetera, automatically added to the list, haha. There's also a reason why it's Siege, and not the Prime Wars Trilogy, that convinced me to return to collecting.

But, in terms of figures that are in my ballpark? It has to be the Siege Sideswipe mold, and all of its derivatives. It's not bad, don't get me wrong, but it's also the bare minimum of what passes as a, "good," Transformers figure, in my book. I'd tried, with Siege Sideswipe, and Kingdom Red Alert, but I ended up passing both of 'em on, to someone else, as they're just...there. There's nothing that stands out, about the mold, where some, "bad," figures even manage to be interesting, with the things they try to do. I definitely can't relate, to the people who are willing to own, like, 15 copies of the mold, haha.

Studio Series 32 Optimus Prime. It's really damn good at what it does and the combination with Jetfire is appreciated, but something about him just never sat right with me, the transformation is overly fiddly and not very satisfying and he just always felt... Off to me. I got my hands on the Premium Finish version of SS05 Optimus, and I vastly prefer that mold to the SS32 version in both looks (which admittedly is a bit unfair because Takara went HARD on the deco) and the actual engineering/transformation and its currently sat proud on my 2007 movie Studio Series shelf!

Also Earthrise Optimus Prime. I've been vocal of my distaste for it for a long while now but it's a huge downgrade from Siege Optimus between the super long legs, the gas tanks in the backs of the thighs, the stumpy arms, the chest that sticks out way too far, the ugly butt wheel front bumper assembly on the back, the huge gap on the back of the truck mode, the lack of any transformation for the back end of the truck mode, the amount of gray on the legs and the dark gray on the elbows, shoulders and the back. The dinky trailer does not help things, thank god for SS86 Optimus Prime!

    Earthrise and Legacy Optimus Primes:
Neither are bad to me,but both are terribly compromised by being 'partials' from the original Siege Optimus mold (which I do love to a much greater degree)

    Legacy Tarn:
Many appear to swear by it. I find it more on the side of "yeah, it's OK - I guess.".

    SS86 Ultra Magnus:
OK, I don't own this one, so my opinion could easily change if I ever get it in-hand, but all pics and video I see reinforce my impressions that it's too big and too wide, with too much 'busy work' in the transformation.

    Reveal the Sheild Jazz:
Another fine toy, and I wouldn't fault anyone for perferring it to later Jazz toys, but I was happy when SS86 Jazz showed up. I still like it, but I was always bothered by the hood chest not staying in place no matter how much floor polish I dumped in the joint, and the face sculpt, which looked like Jazz was competing in a scowling contest with Jhiaxus and Judge Dredd.

Payload. He is the hype, I can recognize that, but I also just can't relate. I know is litterally the best thing ever, but I like a figure inferno Creature much better easily.

When i still had mine, Legacy Armada Optimus Prime left me riddled. Sure, he is articulated, he looks great, and then what? Armada was designed with playability in mind, those Designs dont translate too well if all you do is add joints.
No Minicons, not even many ports to use the old ones, whats the point hasbro?

Titan Class generally falls into the same category, i enjoyed Black Zarack alot tho. They always feel like dustcatchers for the sake of being big but dont do anything exciting.

I’ve got two. First is MP-44. Between the absurdly high price and the various QC issues regarding paint and joints, I just don’t get why the figure is hailed as being so great.

Another isn’t a figure, but a line: Titans Return. Again, so much hype around the line. Yet I just find the figures to be, bad? It was nice getting some characters again, but something about a lot of the figures is that they felt cheap in hand. This covered the entire trilogy in my opinion, but Titans Return was considered by far the best of the three lines, so it got a small pass on it. Loose joints and head connections, and those stickers. I don’t know why the designers thought they were cool when even at the time of release most figures had them peeling right out of the package. I’m getting a few characters from the line to fill out some holes in my collection, but even then I still only consider about 25% of the lines offerings to be “solid”. It’s hard to see the shortcomings of the line until you get the successive WFC figures in hand, which feel infinitely better in hand.

Studio Series Gamer Edition Optimus Prime, I've seen people give the figure no end of praise but all I can see is the hollowness of it, the plastic felt more like something a decent KO from 20 years ago would use.
