I just bought my current grail: a Takara D-16-S G1 Megatron. And to make it even sweeter, it's actually my copy I had to sell to a friend back in 2013, so it's like Megatron is just coming home.
Ruckus and Brakedown... I'd love two of the Brakedowns so I could put an Ironhide head on one and repurpose him as G2 Motormouth.
I love this figure! Somewhere l misplaced one of the lower leg Mammoth kibble and everytime l fiddle with him it drives me crazy! But to your point, he is incredible! EDIT: Forgot to actually state my grail. G1 Raiden in minty fresh condition
Until recently it was an original Takara C-307 Super Ginrai/ Powermaster Optimus Prime. I was very, very lucky to have recently gotten a pristine, unused in box example a few weeks ago. My next grail piece will be a real tough cookie: Diaclone Powered Convoy
Changed my mind, with the advent of Earthrise Skywarp I feel Classics will become more affordable for me. Now it's RTS Lugnut that isn't $100.
I already have one of my two grails (I got a g1 browning at tfcon2019). I am still trying to get a Beast wars metals Jaguar that doesn't cost 400 goddamn bucks.
Easily the best look for the G1 Datsun mold IMHO. Its a shame they did'nt stick with the Diaclone blue/silver for the actual American release, its even on the box art!
I had a childhood list of grails that I finally completed recently in the form of modern updates, which make me happier: MMC Feral Rex instead of G1 Predaking MMC Carnifex instead of G1 Overlord MP Star Saber+KFC Victory Leo for G1 Victory Saber TR Fortress Maximus instead of G1 I like the updated looks better than the originals *shrug*.
Yea, I am a simple man. Only 'grail' for me is the 'blue' Bluestreak, too. As promised to us all in all the various advertisements of 1984. And, no, I don't want the masterpiece version, or a homage, or the Diaclone version. I want the version Hasbro promised in 1984. It's even on the 3D Puzzle! And, just look at how awesome he looks! Hasbro, I will settle for nothing less than the real thing.
Something I have searched for off and on for year are the hood pieces for Classics Bumblebee. Son got his hands on him once when he was little and lost one. As far as figures the TFCC Rewind is on that list. I did the first year's sub but ended up not doing the rest as they were some, "interesting" times financially for me.
Right now? Probably United Warriors Baldigus (RID 2001 Ruination). It was stupid that I missed out on him. I just didn't want to spend the asking price at the time. Now that I've put my RID toys on display, it just feels... wrong... to put KO G1 Combaticons in RID colors there (oh and I discovered the KO Armorhide suffers from bad gold plastic syndrome).
For the longest time my grail was transmetal Tigatron. After I got him it was a cast of the 3h wreckers. After I got that I'd say I don't really have a grail, least not one that exists, though there are 3 figures that I would love to see made. A MP scale glyph and tap-out and a T-Beast inspired Big Convoy based on the Inferno character design from those books
