Hi! I am wondering what most peoples favorite episodes are for the Hot Rodimus era of the G1 episodes?
The Return of Optimus Prime Part 1, although The Return of Optimus Prime Part 2 is definitely close. Dark Awakening rocks too, the ending is definitely great. i really like OP lol
The last 2 episodes of season 3... I hate season 3 with a burning passion and them bringing OP back was a great +. Also I love Rebirth if you count those episodes as Rodimus era
That was pretty much his high point. I loved Burden Hardest to Bear but man I hated that they undid all that development for Optimus coming back in the next episode.
Season 3 had such potential... Five Faces of Darkness, Burden Hardest to Bear, Forever is a Long Time Coming, and Nightmare Planet were my favorites. Unfortunately, Rodimus will never get the character development he deserves.
All of it but "Carnage in C-Minor" and "TROOP", I think Rodimus Prime was great in Troop, but IMO, it was a completely unnecessary set of episode and Optimus should have stayed dead.
I haven't seen many, but all the ones I've seen are pretty amazing. The Five Faces of Darkness was a pretty cool story. Webworld was freaking hilarious. Dark Awakening was the darkest the series has gotten from what I've seen, and it always makes me tear up. The episodes with Starscream's Ghost, both of them, are a lot of fun, as is Call of the Primitives. The Burden Hardest To Bare is also a nice step up in Rodimus Prime's character development. Shame he stepped down for Optimus in the following episodes. Overall, I'd say my favorite would be Dark Awakening, with Ghost in the Machine and Webworld tying for second.
Just like to put in a shout-out for The Ultimate Weapon. Not the most memorable of episodes, but Rodimus has a good meaty part in it (overcomes self-doubt, sees through Galvatron's bluff), and it's a good all-round character-driven story rather being being particularly plot-driven. Also, the scene where Swindle tries to sell the Transformation cog to Galvatron is priceless. An elegant, understated episode, with lots of Rodimus screen-time.
