Target exclusive Predacons Rising SkyLynx? I took him home, and discovered weird things about it.



-No Target sticker, and no sign of one being peeled off.



Multilingual packaging.


So what is this all about? Where did this guy come from?

Edited. I looked more at your pics. Yes, weird that it was in TRU and also has multilingual packaging. Maybe you should hold onto it and keep it sealed in the box. Possible future collectable with this variant?

 

TRU stores where I'm at stock the same multilingual Skylynx packaging.

 

maybe it was a target exclusive for only a specified period of time? That or someone pulled a fast one on TRU and returned them a Target-bought figure

Multilingual packaging was a standard feature for the Predacons Rising figures. There exists NO English-only version of them; even the Target exclusive US versions came in trilingual packaging. (Note the "Age - Edad" in the upper right corner.)

There is a grammatical error in the French translation (I'm a Lebanese and French, so of course I know French inside and out). So Hasblow can't even get translations right?

 

Yup, over here we got the same multi language packaging and we don't even have Targets or Toys R Us stores.

 

The point is just that there's only one mystery, not two.

The mystery "How did a toy that was originally exclusive to Target stores in the US end up at a Toys"R"Us store in Oregon?" is valid.

The mystery "how did a toy in multilingual packaging end up at US retail?" is not valid, because when this particular toy was available at Target stores in the US, it was sold in this exact packaging.

 

That is how much I actually cared about the Predacons Rising figures. I did not realize they were all in multilingual packaging.

 

Their English packaging isn't always free from grammatical errors.

 

Easy: someone returned it and bitched enough that TRU took it back even though its not in their system.

 

^yup, and probably bought it for about $3 at Target and swapped it for a different figure. Was a stack of them at the Targets near me at that price. Almost kicked myself for buying it for $6 a week earlier (damn the completionist in me).

I remember someone spotting a BBTS exclusive Prime Bumblebee behind the returns desk at a TRU. People will do anything to save a buck/rip off a retailer.

Curious as to what the receipt from TRU said as far as product ID.

 

I never took any Hasbro exclusives seriously besides BotCon and TFCC's since most of the SDCC and store exclusives are regular retail items in my country.

Even the Power Rangers Legacy Megazord is not a Toy 'R' Us exclusive here; I see it on sale everywhere! And they are shelf-warming too!

 

Related, I have on two separate occasions purchased Walmart-exclusive Disney Pixar Cars toys at TRU. They even had the Walmart stickers on them, and were definitely exclusives to that store. Similar experience, never found any explanation.

 

I bought Human Alliance Leadfoot at Walmart during DOTM.
So, I feel you....

 

And then, because they could only trade for a Prime figure, took that toy to Wal-Mart and excanged it for store credit worth triple the original amount.
