There's about thirty 'wich x charictar iz yr favret' topics around, so I'll be the the negative one like always and which is the WORST Optimus?

For me, it's always Prime Optimus. Such a boring excuse of a leader. He's always all 'we treat everyone equality because we're all Cybertronian', but then they slaughter everyone in sight. He's a poor leader, boring, and totally unenthused. I hope he stays dead.

Animated Optimus Prime

Because I don't like the idea of a young optimus (unless his name is orion pax).

Prime Optimus, easy. They may have knocked Starscream and Soundwave out of the park and made pretty solid versions of Arcee, Ratchet, and Megs, but CHEEZUS CHRIST is Prime Prime boring. He makes me want Peter Cullen to retire from the role :/

The funny thing is that, despite being young, he was a better character than Prime, G1, Movie and AEC Optimus put together.

 

Movie Optimus may be a bloodthirsty psychopath, but he is a fairly good leader and gets the job done.

Prime Optimus, however, is not a particularly good leader, shows no emotion whatsoever and is completely flat as a character, and does not get results often. I will agree that he is the worst.

(Hell, at least UT Optimus was clearly an inspiring leader to his men, though it's really only shown well in Armada. And even then, at least he wasn't written to be completely stoic and boring.)

I like the idea. Animated Optimus is pretty much the one with plenty of youth inside.

Prime, WFC, and G1 Sunbow. Do you like, Statue-imus Prime? No, how about Marci-mus Fenix? How about the one guy everyone remembers from the 80's?

Movie Prime has a hilarious (to me, at least) contrast between his actions and words. He mostly speaks like the kind and gentle G1 cartoon OP, but then is a brutal melee slaughterhouse. Sure, it can come off offensive to "what Optimus should be", but I find it funny/interesting.

Prime Optimus is a hollow character. He is the great, wise, speach-making "perfect" stoic leader superman, and nothing more. He's a plot device, exposition machine, but not a "humanized" character. Do we know anything about his likes and dislikes? Personal goals outside of his role as a leader? etc... I do give them points for calling it out in-universe that he has no personality, but a single lampshade doesn't make up for it.

A/E Optimus had some cool things going on about his own darkness. He realized a few times over that he wasn't a perfect hero; that his hatred and grudge against Megatron stopped him from being worthy of being a perfect savior.

Robots in Disguise Optimus.

 

TFP Optimus by a mile. His manner of speaking is painfully wooden, boring, and pompous, he should have been "kill the Decepticons" from the beginning, given that, you know, the 'Cons destroyed Cybertron, and he's just a figurehead, an icon. What little clues the writers give regarding Optimus being a person outside of his archetype are buried in the boring pontificating.
