I don't think i can pick one best ep of all, but some of my favourites are:

G1 - "Day of the Machines", "Prime Target" (Prime was just really cool in these particular eps for me.) and "The Return of Optimus Prime" (The glorious return of the best Autobot leader of all, Rodimus gets kncocked out by him, all is right again in this fan's world, what more can i say?)

BW - "The Agenda" eps are what got me into TFs seriously. They were epic and tied G1 and BW together with the discovery of the Ark. Also, the "Nemesis" finale eps were when things really seemed to get serious and desperate for the Maximals, and Depth Charge's death still resonates with me to this day.

BW Neo - Quite a few here:

    - "Move Out Big Convoy!" (The badass introduction of one of my fave Convoys of all! Right from the 1st ep, Big Convoy is obviously not like other leaders, he hates working with others which was very interesting to me. He even shoots at his own troops!),

    - "Mirage in the Sand" (Possibly the best animated ep of the series imo.),

    - "Dinosaur Combiner Magmatron" (Big Convoy's mental transition from his old loner ways into a the role of a teacher was nicely addressed in this ep.)

    - "The Last Battle" (The final epic battle agaisnt Unicron, and Big Convoy gets a suped up 'Matrix Buster' Canon!).

RiD - "Commandos" and "The Volcano", these were my fave Decepticon eps, and Scourge/Black Convoy (my first TF love!) was at his best in these first couple of eps after his introduction.

Armada - "Mortal Combat" a good ole' no-holds-barred fight between (a literally darker) Prime and Galvatron. Great fight to watch and beautifully animated.

TFA - "Thrill of the Hunt" (Ratchets memories involving Arcee were beautifully touching and tragic) and the seasons 1 & 3 finale eps: "Megatron Rising" and "Endgame" (The most climactic moments of the series and many of the best character moments were done in these finale eps. And who will ever forget the death of Prowl?).

Recently started watching through all of Armada and Rebellion has now become my favourite Transformers episode ever.

Pity it's followed by one of the worst ever.

The thing about The Golden Lagoon is, someone criticized the ending for having pretty upbeat music and thought it was unfitting. Personally I thought it was quite effective, since the music takes the "we won" line at face value, but what we see speaks differently; we get a badly sugarcoated truth that only makes it feel even worse.

I get a shiver everytime I finish that episode. Such a heavy message for a kids' cartoon.

    you are correct.

although the Transmutate episode that immediately followed it was one of the worst. Heavy-handed, and utterly failing to maintain the momentum Code of Hero built up with some downright shoddy swipes at 'clever and thought provoking'. Totally left me cold, and it's the only BW episode i didn't particularly like.

Clearly Code of hero was too good!

the lockdown/ratchet episode in TFA comes close though - i can't remember for the life of me what it was called (thrill of the hunt?) but it was great.

G1 - MTMTE parts 1,2 and 3. Great story. Tremendous voice cast and score. The beginning of a legend.

1986 Movie - Introduced iconic characters such as Galvatron, Ultra Magnus, Unicron and my favourite - Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime. Amazing soundtrack and animation, still holding it's own today.

Dark Awakening and Fire in the Sky

BW - the Agenda. Saw it 5 years ago and not since I saw I saw the animated movie in 87 did a TF cartoon so engage me. Felt like a child again. Until then, I was not really into the BW toon. Bought the 3 seasons soon after.

    RID - the Decepticons

Animated - pilot, Megatron Rising, the episode where Megatron keeps killing Starscream, Endgame. Special mention to the episode where Wasp becomes Waspinator. Everytime I hear his screams in BA's machine, it unnerves me.

The 2007 movie does deserve a mention. Great film and my eyes welled up with the music for the Autobots' arrival scene. There was a touch of the divine in that sequence, like being reacquainted with long lost friends.

In G1 I love anything with the Dinobots and the episode Minibots...great animation and drunk Decepticons!

Code of Hero is probably my favorite TF ep overall. So wonderfully written!

Season 3, (imo) contained some of the very best and very WORST G1 episodes. Webworld is one of my favorites.

At the risk of sounding repetitive, Code of Hero is far and away the best episode ever in the entire history of Transformers. Period.

After that, any episode of Masterforce, particularly the latter half.
