I want us to figure out what is the greatest transformer ever produced based on a specific criteria. Hasbro/Takara only. No customs. Not who your favorite is. Not based on who the character is. The criteria being:

    Appearance in robot mode
    Appearance in alternate mode(s)
    Transformation
    Quality of materials used (plastic/diecast/chrome)
    Articulation
    Attention to detail/paint applications
    Poseability
    Stability
    Accessories
    Overall playability
If you need a scale, lets use a range of 1-10 with 10 being the highest

Whatcha' ya got? and explain why......

"Articulation" and "attention to detail/paint applications" do not mean the same thing.

I'm stuck between RiD Scourge/Black Convoy and Animated Leader Utra Magnus. Both are pretty show accurate and they're pretty cool for transformers. Scourge's tanker was just amazing as a kid.

heh, I would vote for g1 kup:
    1. show accurate for both modes.
    2. Transformation is simple, yet still fun.
    3. Diecast + rubber wheels(early version)
    4. Poseability is quite good for a g1 toy
    5. Very durable, unlike some other g1 toys.
    6. Only 1 accessory, i prefer transformers with less accessories(easier to complete too), the fun goes mostly with the toy itself. GIJoes however, is a different story.
    7. Not my favorite character, but definitely a fun toy, very cheap for a g1 too.
    I would rate it 9/10

I said this before but... Drift of course!! A 3 sword wielding Gundam/Transformer hybrid samurai is nothing but awesome...

    You listening to this Tak/Tom

If not, I guess I have to settle for the G2 Laser Prime mold. It's loads of fun that never gets old.

I vote for that one that turns into a robot!

(I don't see this thread going well, what with the attempt to apply objective rating to a fundamentally subjective ... subject. )

Masterpiece Prime and ROTF Leader Prime.

I know, I know..I'm currently in the ROTF hype, but I really think that figure is badass. My only complaint would be it's all plastic and the sword gimmicks are in the way, but I can live with that.

the greatest transformer of all is still in the future.

it works like a gravity bot but has rotf leader prime details, with Binaltech interiors and Masterpiece finish.

and at that time, 5 year olds will laugh at us for transforming our toys with bare hands.

'you had to do all that?' they will say...

G1 Prime. The Optimus Prime that started it all.
