Since it's in Lexicon, it'd be my first chance to attend one. The events of past years sound interesting, but honestly - I'd mainly be going for the dealer rooms, or trading in the hotel. Meeting all the other TF nerds would be fun too. So what are the prices and selection like, typically? I know it's going to be a bit of "who knows". I'd be looking mostly for G1 Japanese items (Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory era stuffs), but then again random BW/BM/RID non-show toys that I never picked up, if it was dirt cheap. I saw in the "post your 05 haul" thread someone got an in-box Star Saber. That's pretty sweet. But no idea what he paid for it. So are the prices any better than eBay or what you find on the boards typically? Trying to decide if I'd enjoy myself and find enough deals to make the near $300 admission price worth while.
Well first there is the dealer room. The dealer room is usually a round mix of good prices, fair prices, some outrageous prices, and then there are some diamonds to be found. I've gone to I guess around 8 conventions and at every one I got something for a great price. I would say the best advice would be to go to every booth and keep your eyes open. Then there is the constant trading that goes on. Without a doubt the best way to get a great deal. Trading going on in the lobby before, during and after the convention. Not to mention the parts party Battlestar and myself offer every year in our room. Lets not forget the last day sale that goes on in the dealer room. The dealers look at their stuff and drop the price. Usually because it beats packing everything back up again. Just to let you know, Battlestarbase will probably be wearing his purple decepticon jersy and I'll have my MegaMus t shirt. If you see us let us know, we are always willing to trade, sell,or just talk. MegaMus
