About Smokescreen, good. Doesn't change the fact that most of the other Armada toys were rubbish as well Just kidding around, it's sort of a charming line in it's own poorly painted, insane sort of way. As for your point about people wanting Robotmasters instead of new, direct G1 homages? Did anyone ever really say they wanted that? I know I don't. Give me the new shite!
Armada, Energon, and Cybertron. I have bought 2 toys from Armada, a couple from Energon and the one for Cybertron I took back that same day. If the mind that gave us the above is the same mind that brings us Neo G1, then at best I'll take a "wait and see" attitude. Question: is there any possibility that this line will be molded to resemble the new IDW G1 redux? SB
Unlikely seeing as neog1 screamer is based off his g1 self where as IDW screamer is very... different from his g1 self.
With Armada, i can kind of understand where you are coming from... but energon and cybertron were pretty fun toys that looked pretty sweet. Not to forget that the toys progressively got better looking from series to series. However, i'm not sure what criteria you are basing your opinion on... Also FYI, it's a widely known fact that Mr. Archer is now in a director (read upper management) position and the bulk of the design work is being done by another Hasbro designer.
I really have no criteria... I like what I like and dislike what I dislike. Granted Cybertron has some interesting shapes, but the only one that screams "buy me" is Starscream. His is one bad-ass design... but I don't go for the supremes size, and I have yet to see the ultra-sized version. I liked some early G1's, like Jazz, Smokesceeen, Prowl... I digged Prime's cab mode and the car bro's from Rid- even tho they lacked symmetry... and I even go for the Alternators. Just to give you an idea... SB
