    RotF was coming out next summer?

    Would we still have Universe toys commemorating the 25th anniversary?

    Let's not forget that all the fans of Animated would be pleased if we had season four instead of their current complaining.

    Plus, we might be able to see a better treatment of the toyline and show.

    You assume a lot.

    You assume that Animated is being dropped solely for the Movie. For all we know, there's another reason as well and if RotF were a year further out, we might get another filler line to tide over until the Movie like Classics 1.0.

    You also assume that Universe / 25th anniversary was ever planned to go on for longer than what it has.

    For all we know, had RotF been another year out, Hasbro may have decided that they could focus on developing another series, stopping Animated with Season 2, and running a different line in the interim. A year - 18 months, the time from when Animated Season 2 ended, is the amount of time that a lot of the other lines ran for.

    In other words, it's wishful thinking, but I don't think things would be any better for Animated fans if RotF was further away. We'll know for sure at Botcon, but I'm pretty convinced that RotF is not the cause, but just the final nail.
