Would an anthology series work for Transformers ?
Each episode taking place in the same universe, but at different points in time.

One during The Second Cybertronian Civil War.
One after the quintessons are cast out by early cybertronians.
One during an energon drought ?
One in which a mini bot pretends to be a human from Earth.

    Yes, but one change.

Every comic book issue in the series would contain several stories ranging from a single page to five pages by different writers set at any point from any existing continuity.

The idea is to fill in the parts that we don’t see and expand upon a character or storyline. The only rule being not to screw up existing timelines and continuities. Fix them, not break them.

    Show, not comic.

I made a similar thread to this. But my ideal Transformers anthology series focuses more on oneshot alternative reality stories, each in their own continuities. With different voice actors and animation studios. Something like Love, Death and Robots.

I was thinking a comic-book is more of an appropriate medium.

It isn't less appropriate as a tv show. A tv show would be more wide spread, thus introducing more obscure characters to normies.

And yet comic books still exist as a medium.

True, but they are a dying medium.
I'm not saying I wouldn't like an anthology comic series, I'm just saying I'd prefer an anthology show.

As long as it's well written, anything can work.

I'd love to see Kick Off as a gladiator in the Polyhex prison camp.

Repugnus in his Dreamwave portrayal as a psychopath who keeps getting thrown out of the Autobots only to be repeatedly asked back for those missions too unsavoury for everyone else.

    Lots and lots of Seekers.

Blurr being a badass in combat with his speed. Only Simon Furman has ever shown this side of him.

Finally see Gripper, Lightspeed and Flame on their mission to stop Overlord.

Something like this would be equally awesome as a cartoon ot as a comic.
