Lets see if they can lock down the look of the chupacabra first.

Let's hope they actually get the actual animals right before we jump to more advanced stuff.

I'd like the concept, but in a slightly different form: animal Transformers hiding out on Earth and being taken for mythological creatures:

    - Paddles as the Loch Ness Monster
    - BW Inferno as a manticore (a giant ant)
    - Optmus Primal as Son Wukong (the Monkey King)
    - BW Silverbolt as a Gryphon
    - Tarantulas hiding out in Africa as Anansi the Spider-Trickster
    - and the Dinobots taken for medieval dragons

It'd be cool to have them reinvented in such a manner, I think.

I like this idea. I'd like four of them in China: a white tiger, blue dragon, red bird, and black dragon-turtle.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Transformer whose alt mode is a Jersey Devil.

But really, Cryptozoology would be almost exactly the same as mythological monsters or normal beast alt modes. Too many cryptids are just things that are either supposed to be extinct, (like various reports of dinosaur/other prehistoric reptiles), sightings of creatures of myth, and worse yet larger versions of familiar animals. If a transformer wanted to take the form of a Thunderbird Cryptid It'd may as well just be a normal bird since I doubt the Cybertronians that have said beast modes in Prime's continuity would mass shift as horribly as in G1. By the size of its beast mode it'd already fit the description of a thunderbird; extremely large birds spotted flying around in the skies. There are very few Cryptids that are truly unique enough to be called a cryptid and not something from ancient myth.

Also, maybe I read this wrong, but, did someone suggest a Sasquatch? That would be incredibly weird and utterly useless. A giant robot that already has a humanoid body transforming into another humanoid creature. Just, what? While you're at it why not give some other Transformers alt-modes for other real hominids as well. Ardipithecus, Australopithecus, Homo Erectus, Neanderthal, ect.

Actually, I won't mind seeing how the authors would portray

    Loch Ness or Big Foot.

Big yes to that. I've always loved the idea that Transformers live in a sort of urban legend status.

Certain types of dragons are considered cryptids actually. One theory is dragons are creatures from another dimension or an alien race.

Just don't give them bestiality powers or something & we'll be alright.

Seriously though, I'm still high on the idea of finding remains from the beast wars & kinda running with it.

Paddles as the Loch Ness Monster yes please.

I remember in Cybertron that a lot oft he Decepticons that were freed by Starscream were apparently the inspirations for all of the monsters in folklore.

Cool idea. I'd like a TFP version of Unicorn for one.

An even better question is why haven't they done this yet? It would be pretty wicked to have cryptid transformers.

I say these guys were in the show from day one, Bigfoot, the Yeti, Loch Ness, etc. When cloning these creatures they also adopted their stealth camo, and with a courage ranking of one, it isn't likely we'll ever actually see them in the show--at least this is one group Raf want have to scrub from the Net:p

A cool concept because between the natural world and mythology there are so many choices of interesting alt modes. The nod to Beast Wars wouldn't be a bad touch either.

I get the feeling though that to see very much of it we would have to have it in a comic book somewhere because I just don't think the show has the budget for so many robots.
