...Or something of that nature, assuming it's not Unicron?

Whatever the protagonists have to do to stop whatever-it-is from whatever-the-hell-it's-doing, I imagine they'll be unable to stop it without without blowing the whole damn thing up or something. So unless the writers bring back space bridge technology that's as large a scale as DotM, I assume that it'll just sorta...hang out in Earth's orbit, right?

Which actually sounds like a fantastic idea to me, because now there'll be a new entire world to explore in future movies, and not only that, there might also be small space bridges dotted throughout, which lead to even MORE planets, which I'm sure will have even MORE alien species! More adventures! More movies! The bots would spread out and do their own cool missions (this could open the door for solo character films, including Bumblebee's). Meanwhile, our favorite human characters would become space badasses, and occasionally they'll accompany their Cybertronian pals on cool adventures.

    IMAGINE ALL THE POSSIBILITIES!!!

That sounds like a good idea, as well as probable! it would definitely do well in the Bumblebee movie to have him explore/recon this new planetary structure.

Great idea, I would like to see it hanging around for a film or two as it creates a new dynamic in the films, as something else is setting up camp in our zip/post code which ultimately creates more wonder as to what they want or what arrival they're waiting for

Seems redundant given we've already had Megatron fly off to a wreck on one of Jupiter's moons or something.

Also you're suggesting that the movies could move into G1 S3 territory. Do you really want to go back to Carnage in C-Minor?

By the looks of the trailer, we've already reached G1 S3 territory anyway. Might as well go all the way.

The TFCU could become Paramount's answer to competing sci-fi/fantasy series such as Star Wars. In order to do it even halfway successfully, they gotta start thinking outside the box (or, in this case, outside Earth). Not saying this series will become critically acclaimed just because they move on to space, but at least it'll be a change of setting, and not only that, it'll also answer so many fans' prayers.

Yeah, I'd say the films have already gone into Season 3 territory with AOE having aspects from Five Faces of Darkness Part I and TLK having some elements from Dark Awakening.

Besides, I love Season 3 anyway. Back in the day I was a Season 3 hater, but I opened my eyes, and now I love the sci-fi feel of Season 3 with its really cool mix of Decepticons, Galvatron going nuts, the Quints putting their tentacles in everything, and things like Optimus being brought back as a zombie and stuff like Menonia and the Red Wizard.

Sure, the aliens in Carnage in C-Minor and Wheelie are annoying, but I love the season overall.

And furthermore, just because we might be heading into S3 territory doesn't necessarily mean we'll get the annoying parts of S3 all over again. :)

Exactly! Additionally, I don't think the reason Season 3 gets so much hate is because of Carnage in C-Minor since the previous seasons have some equally stupid episodes, and I say that as a G1 fan. However, Season 3 has a largely but not entirely different cast of characters, deals with more than just the Autobot-Decepticon war, and is less formulaic than Season 1 and parts of Season 2. I notice many fans of many Transformers continuities react very negatively to major shake-ups in the shows or film series. In truth I think many fans want the same thing over and over, so they don't like it when Season 3 focuses on new characters and brings in new aliens and a science fiction feel, or when Beast Machines brings the Maximals to Cybertron and the characters change in many ways from their original Beast Wars selves and get new designs (although many got new designs during the course of Beast Wars, too).

I think the same is true for many, but not all, fans of the Bay films. Consequently, when AOE brought in mostly new characters, with most returning characters changed as a result of the situation post-DOTM, expanded the universe beyond Autobots and Decepticons and Earthlings, brought in new concepts, and had new, more human-like designs many fans of the previous films got pissed. Additionally, there are probably some fans who are upset that TLK appears to be more along the lines of a Season 3-esque Transformers film than a Season 1 or 2-like film. Personally, I'd much rather have the Season 3 feel of the more recent films.

I am not saying fans are wrong or right for having preferences either. I have preferences. However, I enjoy the Transformers fiction I love for what it is trying to be and not because it did not match my inner vision.

Is there any chance this new planet is in cyber-forming process?

I'd prefer this over Earth Unicron.

I really like the idea of Earth and Cybertron merging and becoming a whole new planet. It would finally put the advantage back in the Cybertronian's corner, as the technology would be beyond fleshie comprehension. We'd get to see the protagonists explore, learn and adapt while the antagonists make a power grab.

That would without doubt be quite a different direction then what came before.

Now that we've seen scenes of it wrecking the moon AND parts of what appears to be Earth, I'm thinkin' my theory is becoming more and more true. If it doesn't end up replacing the moon, then it can easily merge with the Earth like SunSwipe5 said. Either way, at this point I'm almost 100% certain that we'll end up with a whole new world for both humans and Cybertronians to play on. :)  If I'm wrong, I'll be shocked AND disappointed.

One thing though, you'd imagine the Autobots will know pretty well their planet and not explore it, if it is indeed Cybertron.

Oh yeah I'm sure they are familiar with it, even after all these years, lol! I think when I typed that I meant for the humans to explore. Or to be more specific, US, the audience, through the eyes of the main human characters.

That would be awesome, they can go back and forth between Earth and Cybertron as now it's an technoorganic world, maybe humans can even breath there now lmfao.Anyway I like the Season 3 approach I mean it's the 5th movie already you would expect it right? So we have Cybertron back, probably Bee gets back his voice, everything is restored yay!lol I wonder what exactly we can expect from the other movies then :D
