Do you guys ever wondered what would happened if Megatron "ex-machina" his way into the final battle between Bumblebee and Dropkick and managed to save the latters life from being killed by a chain????

To me; it would've provided a great shocker in the theaters for those of us wondering if he'd ever show up in the movie. The story would also advance in the decepticons favor with Megatron at Shatter and Dropkicks side.

I haven't even seen the movie but I know enough about it to say this would be utterly pointless and derail the story for absolutely no reason at all.

 

Honestly I was expecting this with Optimus.

With no build-up 100% and zero mention of the name? He was never named in the movie so him appearing like that Vader scene in Rogue One would be the poor man's equivalent. So yeah it'd be terrible.

No, I don't- because, it wouldn't have made sense-at all. Why would the leader of the Decepticons wait a whole movie, to help out one of his subordinates? What kind of military leadership would that be??? That's the kind of nonsense that would happen in a bayverse film, not a Travis Knight film. . That makes as much sense as Decepticons coming to Earth for centuries, and not once traveling to the Arctic to free their leader from his icy cage  . . .And, as others have said, Megatron wasn't even mentioned, and neither was he in the Cybertron scene. . .For all we know (given the final cut of Bumblebee that was released and the Cybertron scene), Shockwave and Soundwave may be currently handling leadership duties of the Decepticons. . .

...is this just because you're annoyed that Megatron got removed from the film following the TLK shitshow? Because what you just posted is a completely terrible idea that accomplishes nothing beneficial. If anything, it would make Megatron look like a chump if he just randomly showed up to beat the shit out of a guy who has spent the entire film getting the shit beaten out of him by Decepticons almost non-stop until the final battle. Megatron isn't even on Earth nor does he have any reason to be, because this is not bayformers. Additionally, it would be a waste because the final battle only takes place like, what, 30 minutes before the film ENDS?

You've done the same thing that bayformers did in that you've taken a major character and reduced him to a prop.

Use your imagination. Consider action and reaction. Think about consequences. Not every "what if" is an unsolvable mystery for the boards to pick apart. Sometimes you can just come up with an answer for yourself, because if it wasn't in the movie, we certainly don't have one for you.

 

Since its G1 inspired Megatron, he'd have waited to catch BumbleBee off his guard and by the short and curlies. He might have held him hostage forcing Oprimus to intervene, then at that very moment he would have crushed Bee and thrown him to the wind. With no one to interrupt he'd have fought Optimus to the death. Bee would have survived but would need to be rebuilt.

 

...the Decepticons come?

Like, dude, what you want does not exist. Shatter never finishes the transmission, the whole point of the transmission being a thing is to add impetus and tension to the scene. A race against time to stop certain doom when the entire freakin' Decepticon army rolls up to intercept the Autobot refugees due to arrive.

There's no alternate version of events where the message is sent. Because the message was never going to be sent, it was always going to be stopped and both Shatter and Dropkick killed.

Seriously, if you really want to know how a predictable scenario like an unopposed Decepticon invasion would go, just look up old early All Hail Megatron issues and pretend the Autobots are all dead. How exciting, truly.

 

Why would he do that? I can more easily see him ignoring the deaths of Shatter and Dropkick because he probably views them as simple lackeys. They aren't elite members of the cause, they're two nobodies that won't be missed.
