So bad that Optimus' good heart turns out to be a failure in battlefight in EP52, because of his care for the rights of sentient beings over keys. What if cons kidnapp Silas for keys? (assuming Silas isn't dead) What would OP do? Would this be a more difficult situation for OP to make a choice. Or OP would just ignore Silas?
I think Cylas is dead, Demoness. He was last seen screaming as they dragged him off for dissection. Plus, I doubt Optimus would save even this human, especially since his last acts included giving the 'Cons a lethal satellite weapon, trying to kill the children and turning Breakdown into a glorified walker.
I assume you're saying a what-if scenario where instead of the kids Megatron brought Silas instead? Megatron values his Vehicons over Silas. Optimus kills Vehicons without second thought. I don't think Optimus would care much for Silas.
Not even in a what-if scenario would Optimus spare Silas. Silas was more harm than good to the Autobots. Just thinking about that - he'd be letting Megatron take over Cybertron, and he'd let another of his mortal enemies live on. Talk about a scenario of SHOOTING YOURSELF IN THE FOOT.
Optimus doesn't like Silas. Optimus would have a smug grin being like. Do it I dare you..I double dare you motherf**ker.
As much as I would love to Prime just sit back and watch the show, he'll save him. Its like Batman, as much evil the Joker does, I've seen Batman save him countless times during B:TAS.
My personal feeling on Silas - Not dead, he's imprisoned by Knock Out or been passed over to Shockwave to experiment in using human life to create new Decepticon sparks. He might return in season 3 having seen the true nature of the Decepticons and the threat they now present to EArth, and in an "enemy mine" situation defect to the Autobots. Given Silas in the series to date, I seriously doubt Optimus would have given up the keys for him. Not as easily anyway.
I don't think Optimus would have made the trade, not for Silas. I'll bet Silas would have sold the trade to Megatron, though - sold it for all he was worth, thinking there was no way Optimus Prime would allow a human to die. I'm quite sure Silas would be banking on that fact, as way to save his own skin. We'd probably see Prime consider the trade, then look up at Megatron and refuse. Cue Megatron's boiling rage and a look of surprise and fear spreading across Silas' face before he's cleaved in two by the Dark Star Saber.
Optimus would probably save him, because of how much he values life. If Silas died fighting them, that would be different, but I don't think he'd turn a blind eye if Silas needed help. After all, the 'Bots helped Starscream on several occasions. But I think everyone is missing the obvious question here: Why would the 'Cons even bother using him as bait? They know the Autobots don't care about him so they can't assume they'd save him if he was used against them.
"...and again...and again...and again...and a fifth chance at redemption too. Maybe this time they'll put down their weapons and shun the Decepticon way! Join the Autobots! Fight for the humans! Stop killing things! ... Nope, doesn't look like it. Maybe a sixth chance."
Keys for Silas? Let Silas die. No one's gonna win this damned war if they keep giving the guys who have done bad things a second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh chance. I'd like to think Optimus learned his lesson from his history with Megatron.
True, but we do see he's slowly growing, as Megatron said: "More ruthless." His attempt to use the Spark Extractor on the Nemesis is the prime example, as well as the fact that while he may be more lenient towards a pitiful Starscream or an honorable Dread/Quake, he's no longer showing mercy towards Megatron after what he did to Raf.
