What if Hasbro deicdes to cancel their future cinematic universe ?
You should've put a question mark in that title if your asking a question.
I could be wrong, but If I recall, Transformers isn't in the movie universe their planning. I thought it was Micronauts, G.I. Joe, Rom and Visonaries in the shared universe and Transformers (The Bay movies) were separate from that.
No great loss if they cancel it, their franchises can manage by themselves.
Hasbro can't cancel the cinematic universe, others it would be a foolish mistake. Thinks of how much money each movie earned, and Hasbro gets a lot of that profit as well. Cancelling would make them lose a lot of profit.
Too be honest with you I think they should stop within 10 years.
They haven't made a cent on the hcu
I think he's refering to the likes of the MCU in regards to money.
I personally haven't made any plans based around the HCU, so i'm not too worried.
Then those movies won't get made. I'm not really sure why/how this could be a discussion, beyond that statement.
Not only would I not be bothered by the cinematic universe being canceled, I would LOVE for it to be canceled. I hate "cinematic universes" and think the idea at its core is completely wrong-headed.
I'd still like each individual movie to get made, but not be connected to each other.
I want make a short question that's why.
Because with out the question mark it looks like a statement, and your not making a statement.
It's not really a big deal because studios find a way to bounce back from failed plans. Sony thought for sure that they could launch a Spider Man extended cinematic universe only to watch that plan dry up after the last film. Wasn't the end of Spider Man for Sony and if anything it seems to have brought in some excitement that Sony and Marvel/Disney decided they could make boat loads of money by connecting Spider Man to the Marvel film universe. Universal thought for sure that they were going to launch their Universal Monster universe off of Dracula Untold. When that film ended up being a stinker they just shifted the start to the new Mummy movie. It look Fox a long time to expand their X-Men film universe beyond just X-Men and Wolverine.
Even if Transformers runs out of steam and the Hasbro cinematic universe fails to launch they will just dust themselves off and figure out some new way to exploit pop culture names. It's not like Paramount is over whelmed with franchises so they will keep dipping into the Hasbro properties until they find the ones that click.
I think the only franchise could share universe with transformers is GI Joe.
Assuming you're talking about TFCU and not HCU, TF movieverse might very well get cancelled if the next movie won't do as well as Hasbro expected in the box office.
What happens if the HCU gets cancelled? They stop making movies. And we might get a reboot a few years after. It's what happens with everything nowadays. Look at what happened with Spider-Man and Batman.
Although Transformers doesn't have the following that Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel, DC, etc have, I think if the demand for TF toys ever increases again (which I think it eventually will since the brand has survived more than 30 years already) after the Bayverse is over, there will be a new movie series.
