We've seen a few characters who aren't normally triple changers as triple changers... but why limit it to just existing molds. Cause all the ones we've see so far were repaints of other characters who are already triple changers. If we could remove that limitation we could have a lot more possibilities for different alt modes than well Optimus is a Truck and Octane is Truck so now Optimus is also a jet.

With that being said you do still have to keep the vehicle mode they're most known for but you can pair it with any other alt mode you want as long as it's not a slightly different version of the same vehicle. Like Optimus can't be a big rig and a fire engine because those are both trucks and it's way too boring to transform from a truck into another truck.

 

Maybe Cyclonus/Snow Cat could appear in a future series as a triple changer that TF's into a chopper and a snow mobile.

 

It would be a dumbass idea because it would make the uniqueness of original triple changer characters like Astrotrain and blitzwing unspecial and irrelevant since the ability to triple change would no longer be unique to a certain amount of characters. And the ability to triple change would be unspecial. Thank primus tarkara and even hasblow would never make such a stupid decision.

What do you mean Takara and Hasbro would never do that? They ALREADY have. Takara did it first when they made repaints of Springer and Blitzwing as Hot Rod and Starscream respectively. Then Hasbro did it with Titans Return Blitzwing and Octone oddly enough actually being repaints of Megatron and Optimus Prime since the characters who AREN'T triple changers actually came out first in that toy line.

They've also made characters who were never combiners into combiners, characters who were never Headmasters into Headmasters, and a bunch of other gimmicks like that... And guess what... all that's happened is that they renewed interest in a dead gimmick that no one cared about anymore because they weren't making any new ones for a long time. The exact OPPOSITE of what you seem to think.

 

I don't know if Triple Changing is worth anything nowadays, now that we have bots that can change alternate modes easily.

All I can see is that it'd mean more trouble in designing the toys and that more mass-shifting would be required in-universe.

I prefer only a handful of transformers to Triple Change. Like combining it should be something special that not everybody can do.

 

Optimus Prime - Truck AND Gorilla

Ultra Magnus - Car Carrier and Mammoth.

Jetfire - Jet and Fire Truck... I just thought to myself how can I make his name even more literal.

Overload - Tank and Jet

Wing Saber - Jet and Sword

Omega Supreme - Ark and Aircraft carrier.

Overhaul - Jeep and Lion.

Megatron - Tank and Helicopter.

Tidal Wave - Aircraft carrier and as much as I like Broadside just to make him different... Race car.

Nemesis Breaker - Lion and Truck.

 

You just dead ass SAID if EVERYONE was a triple changer. Sure hastak made some characters that wasnt even triple changers into some but they only did that to make a quick buck. They may have did that but they NEVER made every character a triple changer so they never did the stupid decision in the first place. Your logic falls flat on its face.

 

Your logic falls flat on it's face. Look at what you just said. Sure they haven't made EVERY character into a triple changer YET but that doesn't mean they never will do that. If it makes them money they're going to do it. If they thought it was a stupid decision as you're implying that wouldn't make a profit then Cloud Starscream, Cloud Hot Rod, Titans Return Optimus Prime, Titans Return Megatron ect. would never have been made.

If they will do it with some characters that weren't originally triple changers then they could eventually do it with EVERYONE. Their decisions are not based on what YOU personally think is a stupid idea. It's based on will this make money. It doesn't matter what you think, as long as people will buy the figures they're going to do it.

And for the record this topic is about suggesting what other alt modes you would like to see in potential future triple changers. If you think it's a stupid idea that's fine, you're entitled to your own opinion. Go make your own thread to discuss that. I'm sure others would join you there. I personally like the triple changers and that's what I want to discuss in this thread. I didn't make this to have a debate over if it's a stupid idea or not. I don't give a shit. I just want to speculate about what alt modes we could give potential new figures, that's it. If you don't like it find a different thread you are interested in. If you're going to post here then please stay on topic.

I don't know why this would even be considered. Titans Return Optimus was already one of my least favorite versions of the character with his triple changing nonsense (behind f*cking AUTHENTICS OPTIMUS).

 

To be fair, TR Optimus was made from TR Octane, the ‘true’ triple changer. It was just a head-scratching reuse of the mold mainly based on the fact that the robot mode looked like G2 Laser Optimus Prime.

 

I though about this for a few before doing a reply, and I concluded that it would be interesting for some the larger figures, leaders and up, but not for deluxes and such.

While if would end up being interesting for a few, overdoing it removes this feature from being a special capacity.

And only if all three modes are done extremely well with minimal impact in the figure's integrity.

 

I mean, I personally would love it. Multichangers are my jam. But I've always been far more about the engineering in Transformers than about the media/characters/story.
