If only he escaped from being killed, only to be killed off in the 3rd season or in predacons rising, we always gotta have at least 1 autobot or decepticon death to set the stage for more events.

Pretty much this. TF Prime was kind of a terrible show that was terrible at actually running with all of the awesome ideas that seems to be teased at, so why would this be any different? Heck, you could pretty much have killed Optimus Prime in the pilot and not much would've changed.

 

I think that, without his death, Arcee would have been more emotionally stable, meaning she would have had no reason to attack Starscream once he'd been captured, which means Starscream might have actually joined the Autobots, sort of, maybe acting as a refugee/liaison. That means M.E.C.H. probably wouldn't have stolen his T-Cog and Nemesis Prime would likely not have been born without Starscream's instructions on how to power a Cybertronian.

I imagine he'd have gotten on well with Wheeljack and Smokescreen when they showed up. Less so with Ultra Magnus.

I think when Shockwave returned in Beast Hunters, Cliffjumper would have had a rivalry with Shockwave.

Basically, I think the Autobots would have been more emotionally stable and thus gained more allies, and their enemies would gain less advantages. It's funny. He had about a minute of screen time as a sentient, aware Autobot, but the Autobots would have been that much more stable a group had he lived. Ultimately, I'd miss the compelling drama we got from his departure, but it would have been nice to have another Autobot, especially one who's fun and can talk.

 

Then we wouldn't have gotten the awesome Terrorcon Cliffjumper figure

 

If you've lost respect for Prime, then stop watching the "terrible" show.

 

I believe that it was stated that he was originally supposed to live and Smokescreen was the one that would have died. It was also stated that Smokescreen would have died at the end of season 1 vs at the very beginning like Cliffjumper.

 

If Cliffjumper never died then we wouldn't have to sit through Starscream constantly bragging how he killed an autobot... frequently. *sigh* Starscream , I love ya but honestly every time you brought up how you killed Cliffjumper, I sigh in annoyance and facepalm.

 

The better question would be
What if Bumbleebee died in episode one?

 

Cliffjumper ends up being the one who killed Megatron in Deadlock.

 

I'd probably have stopped watching the show and not even looked at it again until years later, seeing as Bee's my favorite character.

Aside from that, we'd have been robbed of one of the show's greatest moments in Deadlock.

 

If bumblebee died I would have watched the series a lot more, and I would have been happier with transformers prime, bumblebee and smokescreen are so irrating, bumblebee deserved to die in cliffjumpers place and knockout should have replaced smokescreen. I would have rather have seen ironhide or perceptor rather than bumblebee.
