Even if this video is fake, I wish that 3rd party companies would make this (skip to 0:15).
As cool as something like this would be, no one would buy it since it's taller than a person and would cost upwards of $1000, if not $2000 dollars. How would you transform it? Where would you keep it?
Why not in the backyard. That's where I'd keep it. Though after transforming it some how I'd leave it in planet mode (unless if it was remote control because idk how I'd transform it).
Might be a better topic for the Third Party toy discussion thread.
But as to answer your question, personally, I don't really care either way. I know that for me, most third party figures are out of my price range already and one of this scale would go without saying. But whether it's fake or not, hey if there are people out there that want it and have the money, that's fine but it doesn't matter to me one way or the other.
Oops, I meant to vote it was not real.
only if i can go inside of it......
And wear it like a suit. And stomp around eating everybody elses food and stuff.
yup. you got it!
And let it be destroyed by weather?
I don't think it's real, but a large scale figure like this is not that out there. I have seen multiple things of this size come out of Japan, like a person sized Gundam. I've also seen a 1:50 scale dragline excacator that would be this size, and cost $2500. But, it's hard enough to transform a figure like Titan Metroplex, let alone something as big as you. So, not completely out there, but I find it very unlikely to exist.
Edit: The image is an April Fool's day prank from Maketoys.
Yeah I remember them posting it back on the 1st and getting a good chuckle. I've never had the Unicron mold(I'd like for that to change) only Primus, but I have been thinking a long time
About a Titan Class Unicron. I just think we need a newer and much larger version. I mean could even imagine how large a Unicron would be of that class? His transformation is simply enough that I feel he could completely keep his proportions and the only main issue would be hollowness. I'm sure since he's a planet they could make that work
His transformation actually isn't as straightforward as you may think if you're basing it entirely on the Supreme class toy from Armada - the catch is the Armada mold, which has been used as the standard with some retools over the years for all Unicrons, does NOT have a full planet mode shell unlike that of the G1 animation model.
Plus, for a toy of Titan size, it needs to do something befiting the size - most of the time this obviously is a base mode though Devestator makes up for this instead through breaking down into the six constructicons. The problem with Unicron is he actually doesn't do a whole lot as a planet. The Armada toy just has the ring of 24 mini-con static ports and you can make the jaw go 'chomp chomp' with the horns but that's about it. Sure, at a larger size you could do smaller stuff like maybe an opening panel to launch the Revenge from, but that's literally it.
The only concern with Unicron is making sure he scales well with the one other character who needs to be on his level, and Cybertron Primus took care of that without issue. I would much rather 3rd parties concentrate on giving us things of characters badly in need of epic updates - Carnifex is expensive as fuck but holy hell he was worth every cent and he doesn't even have Mega or Giga - instead of a raw size-consuming statue.
I'd love to see a Unicron toy at least a bit lower than my height.
Nope. Not even something I even fathom about. Not even for a Legends sized collection.
Unicorn was even out of scale with himself and within his own continuinity. He is supposed to be the size of a small Planet, yet when he transforms, the transformers smash through his eyeball/glass and shatter it. This would never happen. As if he was the size of a planet, even the Transformers (compared to) would be the size of specks/ants. They would never shatter or leave a large hole in his eye.
He is a joke quite honestly.
Something neat to ponder about though I suppose.
With enough force it is enough to shatter into Unicron's eye. And no some of us don't think he's a joke. I for one definitely don't think he's a joke. And plus nothing is screen accurate. Perfect examples are Megatron, Astrotrain and Cyclonus. But it was still a great cartoon, no matter if it was scale accurate or not.
Damn it !!! It says the video has been taken down
I honestly didn't notice that until now.
Soon enough there will be a 3rd paety unicron war, just wait for fanstoys to come out of the gate.
Well count me in it!
