There is a lot of shame in that.

Are you sure about that? I’m having a hard time envisioning where We would’ve been able to accommodate the drivers in the Prowl and Mirage figures when they were in robot mode

In those cases, they would just fall off their backs if they didn't hold by friction. My main point is that there isn't any bone crunching going on. Either the driver would be in a cockpit or would simply climb off the mech. But Sunstreaker, the vans, Wheeljack, Optimus/Ultra Magnus, the seekers, the lambos, the trucks, Inferno/Grapple, dinobots and Insecticons could all retain their drivers. Only Mirage, the Datsuns, Jazz and Skids ended up with the driver seat vertical on their backs without a proper cockpit, IIRC.

I could've sworn Jazz's seat rotates to be parallel with the ground/upright in robot mode. I thought it was one of the main differences between him and the Datsuns.

I think you are right. Jazz's driver rides in his chest, I think.

You all are forgetting in Dark of the Moon when Soundwave transforms he ejects Sam and Carly, then picks Carly up off the ground and transforms around her.

Yes indeed. There was also a moment in Age of Extinction when Galvatron and Stinger are pursuing the Autobots where the former launches a load of missiles after them. Bumblebee had the humans, transforms and throws them upwards so Optimus can catch them and successfully gets them all safe into his truck mode.

Robots can get pretty good at it. Wonder if it’s more the flexible mechanics involved or if they practiced a lot.

Imagine a decepticon disguised as huge, many passenger vehicle just to transform with them inside and kill everyone.

Trouble is that the movies make Transformers out to being made of a billion tiny parts that can do whatever they want to do, reminding me more of kinetic sand than robots that rearrange themselves by reordering parts from one mode to another.

I really wasn’t a big fan of that film so please correct me if I’m wrong but from what I understand only certain transformers were able to transform the way you described it?

In lore transformers are made of transformium, which is what allows them to transform. It allows them to change alt modes and use limbs from different transformers as their own and integrate them to their alt modes. So I find it plausible during transformations when a human is involved, (mostly Autobots) they would transform around them or eject them.

I appreciate your answer but I’m not exactly sure where you’re trying to go with it

the Question I asked doesn’t have anything to do with humans At all , it had to do with the Visual style of transformation we saw from some of the characters in the film which looks more like a bunch of little Nanobots

And what exactly did you mean by “In lore transformers are made of transformium”?

What “lore” are you really referring to, transformium Was pretty much a new concept they introduced in the movie age of extinction, Sure it may not necessarily be an Entirely new concept But it’s not like there’s been a lot of fiction being used with this exact idea

I remember in the Marvel comic Jazz drives off a cliff, transforms, and catches GB Blackrock, who was his passenger.
