Supposedly he's the one charging through that bookshelf in the library scene from the trailer. Though you don't actually see him, so that could be a rumor.

I doubt Barricase is in the movie, unless someone just mentions that he was killed or something

 

His current status is that he is alive. There's no question about that. The version of events which feature him dying have been retconned out, overwritten with a series of events showing his survival.

According to the cover, he's set to appear in the Tales of the Fallen comic book miniseries.

EDIT: Oh, and his survival after the events of the first movie was shown in the Reign of Starscream miniseries, and he was last spotted in the Alliance miniseries spying on the Autobots from afar.

Somehow, I don't think that this is going to be explained as we had originally hoped and been told. I could be wrong, but something just tells me he was originally in the script, but Bay decided to cut him out.

hey i might be wrong , but i read somewhere that the car wasn't needed because when he appears in the movie, the car mode is only seen by 3 seconds, so they replaced it for CGI, and then he transforms and break in the library.I don't know if this is true but sorry if it isn't
