Gimmicks and Sublines. While there are those that hate gimmicks there are many of us who love them, or at the very least love one particular gimmick and would enjoy seeing it come back, if only for a limited run.

So, what gimmick or subline would you go nuts for if they brought it back for a limited run?

Me, I would love if we got another Fuzor subline. I think Fuzors had a ton of potential but bad matches for several characters (namely the PRedacons) hurt the line. But Torca (who I still own and as of this writing has survived not getting Gold Plastic Syndrome), Air Hammer, Bantor, so on... I love those weird fused creatures. Maybe because I am a fan of cryptos. I don't know but I'd love to see new ones.

 

Personally, I feel that forced gimmicks have made decent toys bad or great toys decent. So my choice would be no forced line wide gimmick like T30 Generations line.

 

Powermasters/Godmasters. We've kinda got that with the Prime Masters, but I'd love to see the lock functionality included.

Gravity Bots. Like big fidget spinners that become cars.

 

Headmasters. I haven't got enough of them yet.

 

This is not a "Do you like gimmicks" thread. There are enough of those. This is a "What gimmick would you like to come back" thread.

I would have no problem with this. I love the Headmaster design have zero problem if we got another wave of them. And just to make the purists mad... beast wars headmasters!

 

Minicons

 

Powerlinx, BUT DONE RIGHT. Something like POTP Battletrap. And Targetmasters, but they come with who wielded them in G1.

YES. And remakes of the original ones but they're accurate to the original (looking at you, Getaway).

 

More Head/Titan Masters. Other companion -masters are good too, but I prefer Head/Titan Masters because they get driver/pilot seats in their vehicles.

Not sure if this counts, but how about the old fire/water/wood sticker gimmick for new Battle Beasts? I think they would be successful as releases in the small Master size class, along with a few larger transforming bases.

 

I know I'm in the minority, but I'd say Titan Master figures that are Combiners as well. Talk about an exponential increase in play value...

 

Titanmasters. Primemasters were a gallop backwards into the sea, evolutionarily speaking.

Targetmasters and Double Targetmasters
Pretenders (full sized ones with articulation and inner robots that have altmodes other than a cube)
Powermasters (as in titanmaster dudes for the Powermasters who have already been released anyway, sold at the targetmaster price point)

hmmm this is a tough one i suppose mine would be energons gimmic but done better, most other gimmics that i really liked have been kinda already redone latly

 

Energon powerlinx if they can make it work better....less chunky good in all modes sorta thing. With actual hands for the powerlinx modes

Its a tall order since I want more out of the combined modes but less bulk in individual bots

 

I want more armada style minicons! Love those little guys!!

 

Would the Duocon style we got from Power of the Primes work? Because I would love something like that.

 

totally...but...as long as both bots can flip flop between top and bottom....gotta be the full powerlinx gimmick after all.

 

2 way combiners like optimus and jetfire/overload or megatron and tidal wave but done right. Mainly with decent articulation and good proportions.

Minicon teams that combine into weapons.

 

Do articulated human toys ala Human Alliance count? Because I would be thrilled to see that in Generations.

Otherwise, Combiners. It's fun stuff, there are characters that I want seen converted and others that plain haven't been made yet.

Titan Masters are great too and have characters unvisited, just everyone else has me beat on that.

Yes! And bring in characters from past properties. Jack, Raf, Miko, Sari Sumdac, Melissa Fairborne, some of the comic humans, etc.
