So far all we know is that it was initially developed by the people who did the online F2P game WarFrame, but has now been handed off to the folks who contributed to the online portions of the Master Chief Collection and the Gears of War franchise.

Leaks which appear credible based on much of the information being confirmed by the new trailer have called it a squad based 3rd person "looter shooter." We've also gotten confirmation from the developer that we'll be playing as some of our favorite Transformers.

That can mean a lot of things though. Games in the looter-shooter genre range all over the place.....they can be free-to-play or traditional release. They run the gamut, from Warframe, Division/Division2, Borderlands, Destiny/Destiny2, Transformers: Devastation, heck, even the Diablo series....they're all looter-shooters.

So...what direction are you hoping for? A more traditional release with regular updates to keep things fresh, or a F2P game where progress is slower but the game lasts a decade+? With squad size limited to 4 players....would you rather have a fully customizable character, or are you hoping that each of the 4 player characters will be famous 'bots?

The humans also seem to play a huge role, with at least one of them being Melissa Fairborne (or her daughter). The EDC also appears to be playing a role. Would you like to have them as back-up? Support roles, like the abilities that players can use in Division? Nothing but story-elements?

What about the role of the Decepticons? They were absent from the trailer but confirmed via leaks to be in the game (with some really great designs IMO). Do you want them as side characters? What if the game allowed you to pick a faction from the start and you got to select from either 4 bots, or 4 cons, as your playable character?

Since it's a looter-shooter....how would you like to see that in terms of gameplay? New guns and tech, or would you like the weapons to be more along the lines of Transformers Devastation, where they were all based on iconic weapons from the franchise? Do you want a lot of melee combat or would you prefer it focused more on ranged? Would you prefer everything was customizable or do you think that having 4 well-defined classes would serve gameplay better?

So many possibilities when it comes to looter-shooters.....really hope this thing doesn't suck. So....discuss!

Dating simulator. I want to woo Jazz.

...uh, I-I mean, open-world mission-based campaign with RPG elements derived from equippable gear obtained from looting enemies and a multiplayer similar to Gundam Battle Operation 2, and legitimately useful vehicle mode integration and functions.

Yeah, the vehicle modes......I don't think any Transformers game has really gotten the whole vehicle thing right yet. Personally, I think that's because none of the games have been open world, so using a vehicle mode to travel around didn't matter....to compensate, the vehicle modes just became alternate ways to fight, and nothing more. If this game truly is huge and the maps are large enough....I hope that, rather than fast-travel, the alt-modes are treated as transportation methods. Sure, they're clearly going to have the ability to fight as well, per the trailer...but I hope that driving around is a key part of the game, and that your handling, speed, and weapons can all be upgraded.

That brings up another issue....do you want open-world, Destiny style, with very large maps, or something more along the lines of WarFrame, where each map is a self-contained mission? Or do you want completely open world, like the Division games?

Personally I'd rather the game be more of an objective-focused horde game like Payday, Aliens Fireteam, Darktide etc. I don't want them to try to make this a story-heavy pseudo mmo with big sprawling environments like Destiny. That would absolutely nuke the budget.

I dunno. It really depends on how they do it. Warframe has a super detailed story, but most of it is told via text and voiceover, rather than high-production cutscenes. Division does the same, and both of those games have been extremely profitable and long-lived. I agree about Destiny though. That story is a mess and Bungie really bungled it. They tried to maintain the production values of Halo but online and it just....doesn't work. Giant budget, huge production values....totally uncompelling fantasy setting. So yeah, I agree I hope they don't follow the Destiny model.

Personally, if this game ended up being Division/Division2, but with transformers, I'd be super happy. I don't even care if they rip it off wholesale. Those games were based on a collapse of world society due to an engineered pandemic (apparently ubisoft are prophets), with operators picking up the pieces in the aftermath. This game....could use that exact same framework and still be awesome.

i'd like a game that doesn't rely on predatory microtransactions and actual gameplay instead of just 'shooting' and actual single player content being the primary focus.

i have a feeling this game isn't going to last long, and then once the servers are taken down, the game is useless.

I think we're all hoping for that.

That said.....based on the 3 companies that have worked on this...with the final development company wanting to break out of the support-development role to full developer....I think there's actually a good chance that they're trying to use this as their vehicle to mainstream respect and success. Based on the company's job listings and acquisitions over the last 2 years....they've had a heavy focus on design, AI, online code, and writers. I'm right there with you, been burnt too many times. But...there's a chance!

I'm hoping something that's got a broad appeal that you can play in short sessions. I'd really like to be able to convince people to give it a try without them already being huge TF fans.

Man, I would love some one on one time with my favorites like Soundwave or some time with some choice Fembots... errrrrrrrrr

I mean, cool explosions go brrrrrr with alien monsters.

But seriously, this game is supposed to be gameplay wise, a mix of Warframe and Destiny, which means it will be MMO like in nature, have public social spaces and a possible character looter shooter in the 3rd person. I know we have been going back and forth whether it's 1st or 3rd, but I still think it's gonna be 3rd. I imagine its going to play very similar to Warframe, pick a character, customize them, their loadout, abilities, weapons, ect, and go on missions, modes, and raids to grind and level up gear to get new characters and weapons. I imagine the maps will once again be similar to Warframe, i.e. have dedicated mission and level tile-sets, then the smaller open world places like Fortuna and the Plains of Eidolon. Story-telling wise, is already looking to also be similar, which is to have main cut scene cinematics for missions and story, then like mini cutscenes for character backstory and minor story plots.

Story-wise, I can't stop getting the feeling it's going to be Transformers meets the Walking Dead meets Mass Effect 3. Those are the vibes I am getting from this game is that it's going to be we are being invaded and losing badly, and the virus/hate plague/whatever you want to call it, is infecting and mutating the survivors into biological/mechanical amalgamations to exterminate the current occupying races in an extinction level event. It also seems very dark and gritty, which I always have a soft spot for, if they do it well.

You'd be surprised, complete dumpster fires like Battlefield 2042, Halo Infinite, and equally bad shooters, still have a decent size player count, even though being complete shit games. Not to mention the Transformers fanbase is very dedicated, so even if the game comes out being meh or shit, I still imagine the fanbase will support it to a point.

Even if this game is halfway decent, as long as it comes out in-between other big names, i.e. Don't pull a fucking Titanfall 2 and launch in-between the two biggest names in shooters, people will play it. Especially since in this day and age, all it takes is a few big YouTubers or Streamers to play and support this game to get the mainline audience to support it massively.

    God I fucking hope not.

I'd like a third person action-adventure game in an open world with iconic Transformers landmarks and random encounters. There could be areas only accessible in vehicle mode.

Ideally? An open-world style RPG type game similar to the Witcher 3 or SoulsBorne games, where you're a rookie who's fighting alongside the Autobots, Decepticons and Humans against the unstoppable horde, but get to pick a faction to call as your own later down the line. Different alt-modes would offer different strengths and weaknesses (ie. a seeker is quick and evasive but fragile, a truck/tank is powerful but slow and unwieldy etc.), and a variety of weapons both melee and ranged offer the possibility of many different combat play styles.

More realistically? Something akin to Destiny 2, with a good storyline, the option for local co-op and a good range spread of weapons and armor/cosmetics.
