It at least answers the questions that no one else would think to ask of.

Dead writers tend not to write new tales.

They do leave their notebooks and sketches and whatnot, though. *To me* the original creator's napkin scribbles are more "real" than a published work by someone else completely unrelated.

'Course, it doesn't seem like AVP's even doing anything... important. "Aligned Universe is part of the Multiverse after all". O...K?

    Except for The Beast.

That never happened in any continuity.

It's safer for the sanity of us all that way.

To be fair, in this context I would think "author" only goes so far as to mean Hasbro itself.

Actually, I personally have found the FP supplementary fiction to be preferable to some of what the "official" fiction is these days.

I think that statement is referring to Hasbro's stillborn idea of what is Aligned actually having been a complete franchise reboot - establish one concrete origin point through War for Cybertron where all future continuities would branch off that same origin, streamlining the planning of future series purely by all of them being required to follow the same rigid framework in WFC's backstory.

Then Prime said "fuck that!" and promptly ruined everything by not bothering to do anything in line with what WFC established, along with some utterly bizarre, half-hearted effort put into any attempt to make Aligned more than just a new Unicron Trilogy (I.E. the spectacle that was the canceled Jagex MMO-turned-MOBA, "Unit E" being something nobody ever learned more about beyond the name, and the bizarre prioritization of dudes not from the cartoon like Thundertron getting toys before dudes actually in the show like Breakdown or even Dreadwing having an earlier release).

....Well, we have confirmation from Ask Vector Prime/Grim-Grams that him Grimlock's favourite food is Plutonium Pepperoni, that he likes to dance, that his favourite color is red and that his favourite movie is, unsurprisingly, Jurassic Park.

So now we can actually draw Grimlock dancing and say it's canon in some sense. :p

The way I understand it, The writers of the page (Employed by Hasbro) specially select questions that they can find answers to from either former writers, Hasbro, or other source material.
"He" answers questions about all of the different continuities because he is a singularity (he exists in all), and while his answers are always correct and always cannon, they may not always be about the continuity you are thinking of.

And it's now being taken up by Swindle, of all people, and now being named "Swindle's Spiel".

And Swindle's replaced with Animated Sentinel Prime and is now called "Sentinel Shouting".

    This is getting fun.

Based off a conversation with him at Botcon, I'm pretty certain that MOST of what you read on Ask Vector Prime is written by super fan turned pro Jim Sorenson.

It went overboard once when Sideways took over and said something that was offensive.

Arguably, the main reason why I dislike AVP... It's great fun on it's own, but by no means should it be considered canon for anything. I don't care if it is "Hasbro approved." THEY don't care what's canon or not!

That's the TFWiki's position (Note: TFWiki, for all it's value, is, itself, unofficial).

At best, they're creating a lot of unnecessary work for themselves. Best to just let it be what it is, and not worry about cataloging it. Save that energy for actual material.
