Soundwave is an extremely impassive unemotional Decepticon (whether he's got no emotions or is just cold varies with the continuity). But he must care for something, right? So what exactly does he care for?

- Megatron (his boss, who obviously looks out for him and to whom he has loyalty - unless he's too weak to risk supporting, which is why Soundwave said nothing in TFTM. He did return to Galvatron's side afterwards...)

- his minions (Ravage, Laserbeak, Rumble, Frenzy, Ratbat - they're the closest he has to family)

- in CYBERTRON he cared for his partner Sideways and their homeworld Planet X, but that's more an alternate universe really...


... and that's it, I guess. That's all he's ever really cared for, hasn't it? A strong leader to keep behind and his own soldiers to lead.

Typically, he cares for Megs, their cause and his little chest buddies. Everyone else can go to hell for all he cares.

He care for his minicons, Megs,and the Decepticon cause. Secretly of course. He doesn't express it, but we all know he does.

 

Soundwave cares about #1. The best way to do that is not to try to take power, but to be a legitimately loyal soldier, to do his job well enough to comfortably establish himself in an essential position, earn thetrust of those above him, and SCREW them bastards below him on the totem pole.

He cares for keytar's and Cassette players

The title of this thread made me think of that panel he is in of the latest issue of mtmte where he is clutching a dying ravage close to him with an extremely traumatised look on his face and asking if there is anyone who can help him, that scene is priceless.

 

He also cares about information, if I remember my bios correctly. In Canage in C-Minor, he seemed quite distraught when Blaster erased his tapes, moreso even than just because he lost a powerful sonic weapon.

 

He cares for power, influence and his own position.

He doesn't crave leadership like Starscream but if the opportunity ever arose to throw Megatron under the bus with no negative repercussions he'd take it.

 

He is all about the DeadMau5 and Daft Punk! Lol

 

I disagree. Shockwave is loyal to logic, Starscream is loyal to himself, Megatron is loyal to the cause, and Soundwave is loyal to the winning team.

Alright, he cares about this stuff and all, but...

...this is what he REALLY cares about.

 

He doesn't "care" about Megatron at all. Loyalty is what he knows will get him closer to his goals.

However, at least in IDW, he seems to have some emotional connection to his cassetes. But I think they are the only things he has any vague emotional attachment to.
