What do you think of the first movie tie in game? I only got the DS Decepticons version. I have seen how people say that it was terrible but that was said about ROTF and many people have said on these boards that it was OK and had a good multi-player.

What is you're opinion on each version. PS2, PS3 PSP, DS etc? Was their any good parts? was it all bad?

In my opinion the DS Decepticon game was pretty good. Out of the (I think 12) DS games I have, it is my favorite. I love the Open World Gaming and I also like its unique story. I love how the story takes the used to death Megatron VS Starscream and gives it meaning through a rookie who has to choose between his mentor, who every one says is a cowardly traitor or this dude who disappeared before he was hatched, that everyone says is a great leader. It has the best Starscream in TF and a really good Megatron is brilliant. It is fun to easily replay any mission and to play challenges or just drive around one of the four maps. I love driving around or starting a fight with the humans in the Tranquility Map which is pretty big.

bad stuff is that there is bad graphics, simple enemies and terrible steering for the vehicles and low quality cutscenes. Also, while the story is good, it doesn't have much to do with the film.

 

I loved the game, didnt see the problem.

 

I used the disc as a coaster once. My soda turned to rancid rhino milk.

I played frisbee with it and the grass it landed on died. I've been haunted by earthworm ghosts ever since.

The back of the disc doesn't reflect light, it's a gateway into a dimension of sorrow.

Ever since I brought the disc into my house, I've been waking up covered in guacamole and live hamsters.

 

Premium version was pretty ehhhh.


DS versions,however were pure win.I loved that Rookie had to sacrifice himself,and was shocked when Megatron killed him.
That game beats ROTF and DOTM ones by a long shot.I was expecting after WFC ,to get a damn awesome game for DOTM.Perhaps,that was going to happen ,but Activision decided that Behavior should develop the game.Why did they do that,is beyond me.

 

It's not the greatest game, but is nowhere near as bad as everyone says it is. I enjoyed it.

 

Played the PS2. I loved the first movie game. It had Shockwave, great voice actors, and more importantly, Barricade accualy kills Autobots. Decepticon campign, though.

If I had any complaints, it would be that there's no Drones to kill when your roaming, you can't kill humans (RoTF the game fixes that), the tasks are sometimes difficult, and the fact you can't play as Brawl, Ratchet, Bonecrusher, or Shockwave.

I just bought this game and RotF when i purchased a PS2 (im going to get the G1 and Armada games online but these 2 were there at the store) they are both SOOOO terrible. I think TF1 would be ok if the camera followed you and the driving controls weren't so terrible. Maybe they would be better on PC where you could aim with a mouse...I dunno...but yeah i hate the PS2 versions lol.

 

The transformers looked pretty good, but the play mechanics were pretty generic and half-assed. That's not to say I didn't enjoy running around, transforming, driving, and blowing shit up all the while.

 

I didn't really see the problem, really. But it was still "Meh" to me.

 

I played it with a bunch of friends once. I was the only survivor.

 

The DS games were a clunky mess. Nothing more to say about that.
Then I played the PC version; I was in a wheelchair for months.

 

Thought it was shit. Sold it a month after I got it. Didn't even beat it.

You couldn't even flinch without SOMETHING blowing up. Actually, shit still blew up randomly even by standing there. RoTF was a massive improvement over it. Sure the campaign for RoTF was repetitive and dull, but Luxoflux knows how to engineer a game and make it's multiplayer fun and addicting.

 

it is a very enjoyable game, the free roam and going around destroying stuff is a blast, the hate it gets really isn't warranted.

though the wii verson of it sucks cause of camera issues

now the DS games are fantastic, with the regular console game being quite fun, they aren't the best games, but they aren't bad

But on topic, I remember having a... Decent enough time playing it when it first came out. Nothing spectacular, but hardly a game I despised. Enjoyed the Decepticon campaign quite a bit.

Seriously, did Brawl and Bonecrusher forget they were giant robots, Brawl especially who was armed to the fucking teeth with missles and machine guns?

 

Honestly, I really liked the first game. You can just spent hours destroying stuff as BB in the free roam city environment. It was pretty decent to me. I'm speaking of PS3/Xbox360/PC though. I don't know about Wii/PS2.
