    Honestly, I hate it.

I know there are some instances that a figure either needs to be packed in its robot mode (usually due to the size of the figure in its vehicle mode compared to the packaging, like Leader Jetfire) or its done to make for a more impressive in-package display or something like that.

But that doesn't mean I like it. To me the most fun is that first transformation from vehicle mode into robot mode, its like solving a puzzle, or opening up a gift or something ya know? It always just felt more special than going from robot mode to vehicle mode the first time. Plus it just makes it easier going back to vehicle mode the first time. Ya pack something in its robot mode, the surprise is ruined and its just not as fun.

I absolutely hate that so many figures are opting for robot mode packaging nowadays. All legends and scouts come in robot mode, some deluxes are starting too, all voyagers are now (at least with the HFTD line), all leaders do...its just annoying.

I don't care either way honestly. It's coming out of the box anyway.

As long as it has no QC issues it could be packaged upside down for all I care. :lol

I don't mind either. It's going to be transformed back and forth anyways. I think transforming from bot to alt is more challenging in most cases.

I like it better. I display ALL of my figures in bot mode so it allows me to see any issues with the bot mode prior to buying. Plus, when I open it, I get to transform it at least twice before displaying it. Also, I personally like the look of bot mode in a package. The new HFTD voyagers look AWESOME!

I support it, especially for WTF alt modes. The toys hopefully sell better that way.

I don't really care either way, though for more complex toys the vehicle -> robot transformation is usually easier than robot -> vehicle, especially for the first time.

I like it and from a selling point it makes sense. The robot mode is usually the more attractive selling point.

I like it. Particularly on the HFTD Voyagers. It almost makes me want to buy another to keep MISB.... almost.

I used to be against it because the box artwork was always in bot mode and I thought it was pretty redundant to have the toy in that mode too, but recently I've changed my mind. Yesterday I got Generations Megatron and Darkmount and it bothered me that Darkmount was packaged in alt mode. I'd much rather have seen him packaged in bot with his pick axe out. Megs' head was squished down though, so that's a downside when something like that can happen and make the figure look silly.

EDIT: Pics to make my point.

    What sells this figure?

I echo what has already been said; I really don't care. I understand what the OP is saying, but I have just as much fun in either case.

I don't care, as long as:

if they pack it in robot mode the instructions should be turning robot to vehicle.

if they pack it in vehicle mode, the instructions should be turning vehicle to robot.

It doesn't matter to me what mode a TF comes packaged in.

That's a non-issue since the new lines have instructions for both instances.
