I just saw the new pics of Predaking Voyager on BBTS and just puked a bit in the mouth. Then I looked at the the other figures and thought, "fuck it, I am out".

So I am wondering if you guys feel the same. I was never a beast wars guy, so maybe the beast wars guys may feel different, so trying to see what the peeps here think as well.

 

I for one love them   i cant wait to get my hands on them

 

I don't typically enjoy "Beastformers". I was not into beast wars at all. So pretty much all of the "Beasts" we've seen are auto passes for me.

I'm not crazy about the retooling of the existing prime cast I've seen either. I might buy the Roadbuster Bulkhead recolor, and maybe the Soundwave with the tentacle arms. Maybe. For the most part though, I'm done with the Prime line thanks to these. I'll only buy what my son absolutely insists on getting. Nothing for me.

 

I'm even neutral to beast formers (cybertron line had quite a few ones done well), but I hands down hate these retools. I only want that weaponizer/supreme predaking they showed at sdcc and I can be done with prime.

 

For me, they are almost a parody of everything I hate about transformers rolled into one figure.

-Vehicle modes that are no longer disguises due to all the weapons tacked on? Check
-Overly bright colors and harsh angles? Check
-Happy Meal style design? Check
-Simplistic looking robot mode? Check (What can I say, I actually like kibble... gives them personality)
-Gimmicks? Check

 

I think Predaking looks really good and I like Razorclaw's mold, although the paint job really doesn't appeal to me. The re-molds of Bee, Soundwave and Wheeljack do not impress me though. Soundwave just doesn't look right to me, Bee looks horrible, and Wheeljack looks interesting but not enough to make me want him. I've got the beasts pre-ordered but passing on all the rest, which really makes my bank account happy.

 

I like the beasts, but the old characters with stupid spikes and shit on them are easy passes.

 

Beast transformers are instant buys for me, I'll just be skipping the spike updates of the TFP wave one figures.

 

Overall, I'm liking the look of things. That said there aren't many figures I plan on getting. Out of the figures we've actually seen, there's two...maybe three figures on my to-get list. Legion Smokescreen, Legion Airachnid, and maybe Voyager Predaking. Commander Optimus Prime is on the list, but we've only seen a render, not the actual toy, and I'm considering Weaponizer Ultra Magnus, but we haven't seen anything of him yet.

 

Waste of money.

 

the only stuff i'm buying out of this line is the Dragons.

 

Me no likey what I have so far seen.

 

I'll get the beasts. And that's it, now unless they make a voyager

I'll get that, and that will be the only vehicle transformers I get from it.

 

I'm more interested in the Preds. I might get Wheeljack, but that's it for now.
I might consider the other ones if they go on clearance.

Don't care for same-character repaints/retools/rewhatevers.
Don't care for robotic beasts, especially if they're all going to be dragons.
Don't care for the Prime aesthetic in general.

 

ill consider any of the actual "beast" for my son, and if they are awesome i could even start my own collection of beasts, but if they arent that awesome ill just get the god ones for my son.

I didn't see the "kill it with fire" button so I guess "No Way" will have to do.

Side note: Though I hate it, I think my son will love it. He loves spring loaded missiles.

 

It takes everything I liked about Prime and does the opposite. Not liking what I've seen so far. Hopefully the show doesn't start sucking.

 

I wish that I could get all of them(the retools for the weapons only) but alas I can't because of money problems. I will just get the new molds.
