Narrowing it down to one figure is ridiculously hard. Limiting it to mainline releases, I'll say it's a toss-up between PRID Vehicon and T30 Springer to me.

Tough question, even with a limited collection:

    1. MP 29+ Laserwave

    As for runner-ups:

    2. Siege Shockwave / Galactic Man (very close to MP 29+)
    3. UW Devastator
    4. MP-36+ Megatron
    5. Takara Legends Overlord
    6. Takara Legends SixShot
    7. Titans Return Sky Shadow
    8. Titans Return Gnaw / Legends Sharkticon
    9. Warrior Class Bludgeon
    10. Combiner Wars Shockwave/Legends Shockwave/G2 Shockwave

This is similar to the question of the best Siege figure.

    I would rate by:
    • quality of plastic
    • gaps (lack of)
    • articulation
    • ease of transformation
    • overall quality
    • esthetics
    • paint quality
    • kibble
    • accessories
    • fun factor
    • pricing

For me, the winner for Siege was Sideswipe even if his weapons were a bit weak/cheap-ish. Not because he's a favourite but simply because he scores high on all these points. Starscream is next, simply because of the pop-off chest part (that is fixable with a drill and some pins), and then Optimus that would right on his tail.

Outside of Siege, Sandstorm is very high in points (loses some for plastic quality and other quality issues), but another amazing figure is TLK Voyager Megatron (his insect-like/burnt demon face is his weak point).

In the end, there just can't be a true winner, just one that will stand out but more as a common favourite than actually being the "best".

T30 Springer, probably. Siege Optimus and Spinister are close behind him.

That an incredibly difficult choice.... MP-32 Optimus Primal. He ticks so many boxes and does so little wrong. When Im deciding this I think back to those figures that blew me away in terms of being the complete package with loads of bang for my buck, MP-13 Soundwave and MP-10 Convoy are very close runners up.

Tf prime voyager first edition Optimus prime. Nailed both the alt and boy modes, good paint and fun transformation. Only compromise was that he only came with 1 blaster and 1 sword. Close second for me is mp10 and honourable mention to ectotron

I wouldn't count any Masterpiece in the best of category. They are meant to be great, but in many case fall short due to QC issues and the excessive cost. If this was a 20 year question, then I would say that a lot of the older Classics line of toys would get the nod. Classics Jetfire might just be the best.

To be the best, a toy needs to rate very high in various categories. I think that for cost, play value, quality of construction, design, ease of transformation, and similarity to the source material, the RID Warriors might be the best overall toyline over the past ten years. We got a lobsterbot that turned into a car. I would have preferred pinned wheels instead of the clip-ons, but most of the toys could be bought for $12.85 at Walmart and went on sale for $10 a few times. That felt about right.

It is a set of toys I would recommend to anyone and make a kid happy. To me the RID line felt like first gen Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Something fun to play with that holds up to a decent amount of abuse. As awesome as some movie toys are, a Transformer that takes 20 minutes to change over really isn't that great. Twenty years from now, I think that my eventual grandson would pick up the RID toys over other Transformers to play with if they were all sitting in a room.

This guy is just so cool to fiddle with and looks so expressive. In vehicle mode it has almost a Tonka like feel to it. Even if you don't know who the character is, you still woudl want to play with this toy.

    A lot of tough Choices.

ROTF Buster Prime is still one of my top pics.
Mp 36 Megatron, the Megatron toy I always wanted.
UW Devastator- What else needs said. Nobody defeats the Devastator!
Siege Omega Supreme- Has the look and is actually fun to play with! lol
Siege Refraktor- loves those little guys with the bonus outdated Camera lol
Titans Return Decepticon Targetmaster Trio. How one molde made all three is remarkable and they are solid fun toys!
Not sure if the MP Datsuns were this decade or tail end of last, however They are worth mentioning as well. Great figures! Plus I didn't own them until 2013. lol

Reading through these posts makes it difficult to nail down which transformer is the best of the decade, but I'll stay with my choice of Jetfire. But I have to ask what transformer has had the most influence on form, fit, and function on the line in the last decade?

Ah, yeah I was going to say Siege Jetfire, but trying to tab the front of the jet together during transformation is really difficult on my copy. Maybe it's just mine though.
