I don't mind a couple here and there, but when they all get too creaturey then they just become monsters and it loses any Transformers appeal to me. Animal TFs are okay because at least they look like something, but uniwheel 'bots with no legs, heads in chests and massive sweepy hands ain't too much my thing. I like a vehicle or device becoming a recognisable humanoid or animal shape, but just becoming some misshapen thing isn't as creative as when it comes to changing a vehicle we recognise into a humanoid shape.

 

A good idea indeed.

 

in the case of the decepticons, it makes them far more menacing. the autobots are still primarily humanoid...with exception of arcee since we haven't seen her combined mode.

I like it, Demolishor's unicycle form, Rampage's crab legs, Hightower's scorpion body and Overloa'ds four arms make for some really nasty looking villians.
