Come back when you certain of your answer.

Is story cannon spelled a different way?

what everyone thinks was intended to be canon.

    Anything officially recognized by Hasbro?

Unless it's something really stupid. Then I accept it as canon, but I don't care for it.

Plus, being that TF has been established as a multiverse, virtually everything that isn't fanfiction is canon unless stated otherwise (for example, I have doubts that the Dreamwave continuity(ies) is(are) still part of it all. But what do I know?).

I think it might be easier to say what I don't think is canon: The Ladybird Books or whatever the hell they're called, Alignment, I'm not sure about Another Time And Place but I think that might fall into this, and some of the original bios if we haven't seen them manifest in some other media.

Yes, it's correct the way that you spelled it in the next sentence.

    Cannons:

    Megatron's arm cannon.
Galvatron in alt mode and his arm cannon.
Perceptor in his really never used third mode.
    Straxus/Darkmount, usually.
    Shockwave.
    Onslaught's alt mode deploys them.
Any tank mode Transformer is a pretty much mobile cannon.
Any howitzer/mortar type is an artillery cannon.

    Canon:

    Any story.

Cannon, with two N together and 3 N total: That stuff that blows you up real good.
Canon, with one N in the middle and 2 N total in the word: That stuff you watch and read.

Everything officially produced is canon. That doesn't mean it's all the same continuity, though. Something can be part of a G1 tech spec, making it canon, but it still might not be part of G1 cartoon continuity or G1 comic continuity. It could be both, either, or neither.

    Depends on the continuity.

John Barber cleaned up the movie continuity, so everything on that TF Wiki page of the movie timeline is canon for me. Animated had a very tight, cohesive canon for the most part.

I use the squint test as Hasbro advised for the Aligned "continuity". I can accept that in Prime, the High Moon games, and the novels, the same basic plot structure. Unicron and Primus fight, Unicron becomes Earth, age of corruption ends when Megatron kills Sentinel/Zeta, war, bla bla bla. Nemesis is Trypticon, Core gets infected with Dark Energon. I just cherry pick whatever works for me.

Canon and continuity are not interchangeable terms. They mean different things.
