    I can across this:

    Disciples of Boltax: Extended Bios!

    extended bios on some characters. Hardly adds a whole new dimension on the Transformers world. But add tiny little things.

    I'm sure there more of this kind of stuff out there. And maybe some of it does change the dynamic of something important in the TF world.

    Would you consider stuff like this cannon? The stuff that was intended to go in?

    I think the profiles on the toys are guide lines for personal canon. For example Soundwave's blackmailing was never in any fiction that I can recall, but I use in in my personal canon/fanon.

    I think the only fiction that makes use of that trait is some of the tail-end Marvel UK stuff. Which is also the only fiction to use his mind reading ability, aside from the weird psychic-synesthesia stuff IDW Soundwave has going on.

    It is hard to say. The basic bios on TF Wiki be cannon that is usually the first 5 sentences....of their basic personalities....

    That's true even with today's toys. Every single one of Knock Out's toys (including "side" stuff like Kreons) paint him to be a weapons dealer and make absolutely no mention of his vanity or being a doctor. Y'know, his defining traits on the show.

    Of course, the extended bios linked here are a whole other story since those particular bots literally have (or had) no other background info or cartoon appearances or anything to even start with.

    See, even the official sources of canon are confusing. I grew up with the cartoon (G1) and consider that official canon. Beast Wars as well. While I don't care for Beast Machines, it too is official. Movies are canon, but they're not in the same universe as G1, they're their own universe. Toy bios, I think are just a quick filler to put some print on the packaging and I put little to no stock in their worth. Comics, no worth to me either. (That's me. Not anyone else and I won't speak for anyone else.)

    And then you have WFC/FOC and how it ties into the Aligned Continuity with Prime. They tend to contradict each other in many ways, but then seem to possibly share little bits here and there, and Aligned is considered one of the biggest official canons right now.

    It's odd, because it ties into Prime, I give WFC/FOC some legitimacy in my mind, but if it had nothing to do with the alignment, I'd probably have nothing to do with it. Prime, on the other hand, I consider official and have great respect for it.

    So, I'm not entirely sure there's any clear cut answer. I guess the best way to put it is "whatever works for you is right for you". As for things like cut scenes or storylines or designs that never made it to the final product...eh, not really. For me, cartoons and movies are the official canon, everything else I tend to ignore. Especially the comics. I just never got into them. Not to say they aren't good, I'm sure they are, they just don't do it for me.

    *Sigh*

    The thing on Megatron's arm is a Cannon. Three "N"s.

    The material generally accepted as "official" in a fictional universe's fan base is Canon. Two "N"s.

    Well, my personal canon is:

    1. The first three seasons of the Sunbow cartoon and the movie;
    2. The four Japanese animated series (HM, MF, Victory, and Zone);
    3. The official Japanese story pages (Return of Convoy and Operation Combination);
    4. All of the E-Hobby comics;
    5. The Japanese G-2 story pages.

    Now, are you asking what do people consider their personal canon? Or simply what everyone thinks was intended to be canon?
