I'm curious...now that we have him as an exclusive, does anyone know what they think about him? Are they drooling over it, or do they think it's a sucky pea green monster?

They may not even know its existence..

btw how many Cybertron toys we have/will have that didn't come out in Galaxy Force line? And which of the toys are characters that weren't part of the show?

Downshift will probably come out as a "U.S. Edition" figure in japan. The same way Energon Towline came out over there.

Believe it or not, but many jap transfans, prefer Hasbro over Takara (just like in the west, seems to be the other way...)

and well, i doubt they dont have internet access...

thinking the japanese fans might not know about a hasbro exclusive is like thinking US fans wont know about takara's exclusives.

Autobase Aichi is covering all the news from the US that affect toys that either aren't confirmed for Japan yet, or are not going to be released in Japan at all.

And someone at the TF Image Board already got his hands on a Downshift sample before the toy even came out.

Der, how could I forget Dark Scorponok, he's sitting on the book case next to my computer desk :LOL

also forgot about unicron, I considered the mini-cons, but I was thinking more along the lines of basics and up.

I never really figured the Japanese fans would like Hasbro stuff better. That's crazy. I guess the only way for a transfan to truly be happy is to get rich and buy all versions of everything EVER.

To those of you who do that and afford it, BLAH :(

:D  Maybe it'll be me one day! WTF kind of life goal is that, geez

while we're talking about downshift, which totally rocks, what kind of car is he? he has a classic car look but i cant tell which one. or is it a mish-mash of classics so hasbro doesnt have to pay the car manufacturer, i.e. RID x-brawn?

You know what we should do? The 2005 boards should hook up with a Japanese transformers collecting forum, and have a cross-pacific trade forum! Want a robot masters Victory Saber? Trade it for a Dark Scorponok! Find a guy who prefers the 20th anniversary prime paint apps and get a MP Convoy for it!

I know US exclusive toys are resold by e-Hobby as "USA editions" ... I have no idea how well they sell though.

I can only imagine things like Star Wars TF's and Dark Crumplezone are pretty popular, if not in high demand.

I really like the international trade forum idea. that'd be really cool.

Not at all. G1 Tracks was a Stingray. I went to high school with a guy who had one. In blue, too. Looked just like Tracks, minus the flame sticker. It was pretty badass.

It looks like a 1971 Plymouth Cuda w/ a slightly different front end to me.

Not all are being sold by e-Hobby. Some are available from TRU Japan, such as "Super" (Supreme) Starscream, some are available from Toy's Dream Project (Energon Ultra Magnus), some from Jusco and some from TF Station stores.

Autobase Aichi has a pretty much complete list of "USA Editions" here (in Japanese only, sorry). He seems to be missing Primal Prime (TRU Japan exlusive), though.
