Pretty straightforward. Now that Galaxy Force has been over for a couple weeks, and we have that much retrospect, what did you like most about the series?

I enjoyed how several characters got some pretty decent development, ala Guardshell, Demolisher, Flame Convoy, and Galaxy Convoy (but the development of a leader is a given, I figure). King Starscream was a damned fine addition, too, as was a Convoy that didn't rely on powering up via another soldier to continue to be tough later in the series. The fact that Galaxy Convoy's final battle was not him combined with Liger Jack or Sonic Bomber was very nice (even if it didn't make a lot of technical sense).

*edit* I forgot to enter this on my first post, but I thought that the character models looked REALLY nice as well. I enjoyed the cell-shaded look of Superlink, but Gonzo did a great job with modelling and animating the characters. Ignition sequences were also very nicely done.

And, although unrelated, I also liked TV-Nihon's quick subs. :thumbs2:

    Very much seconded.

Something about this series really drew me into it. I'd tried watching other TF series, but couldn't, and I wasn't sure how I would take to this one, but it drew me right it. It kinda lost me around the Speedia arc (so drawn out that I lost interest), but once things started picking up I was there checking every day to see if the new sub was out.

The series had such a strong sense of emotion to it that suprized me a lot. From Exillion/Cobys win on Speedia, to Starscream decimating most of the Autobot army for the planet chips on the Space Bridge, to Vector Primes sacrifice, and right to the end of the series there were a lot of things that just made me "wow". Having only seen the G1 series (I still need to pick up the BW box sets...) this was a pretty radical change.

Megs/ Galv and Starscream really impressed me on the show too. Starscream was very well done I thought, and Megs/Galv had the power that he should have, being the leader of the Destrons and all.

And Signal Lancer was awesome too :D

The show was no G1 or BW.. but the storyline was pretty good. After Energon and Armada, it was good to have a few subplots that extended beyond a single episode. I actually wanted to see the next episode to find out what happened.

I also liked Fire Convoy/Scourge's character development. While he was a "bad guy" in the beginning, he at least had some honor which helped him become a good leader.

the show dealt with death on a level no TF series has ever dared to before. yes, dinobot's death was emotional, but nothing like vector prime's. here we see the cast reflecting on his sacrifice before he's even gone, and the way everyone handled it with bud was just heartbreaking. I honestly shed a tear at the end of the episode. Dinobot died, and then the plot moved on. we saw the cast salute him, but there was no REAL show of emotion. Galaxy Force delivered the most emotional episode of transformers ever, and did it in a way that few other animes, regardless of their demographic have done before.

same with the ending. we got a true ending that tied up everything, and made the viewer feel that everything had come full circle. this has never been done in a TF series before. the big battle is always the last episode, and then there's a few minutes spent tying it up. they've never dedicated an entire episode to put a proper, and respectful end to the show.

These are just some of the reasons I feel that Transformers Galaxy Force is the greatest Transformers show ever.

I agree about the ending, but neither Vector Prime's nor Dinobot's is on the same level as G1 Prime's. Given, it was in the movie, but I think most of us still get a little choked up when he dies.

I respect Valk's opinion but I always find it amusing that people think that the newest toy, show, etc is the best ever... at least until the next one comes out. :)

It was a fantastic show. I think some of the best features were really using the other characters. Having Starscream split off into a 3rd faction that remained important until the last few episodes was great, and they took that concept to new heights with the bots from the other planets. The way they had to be convinced to join a side, and in Flame Convoy's case how he switched sides, made it so much better than the standard Bots vs Cons with no question of anyone's allegiance at any time.

I think it's been stated but the Character development was one of the main reasons. And yes VP's death and how they deal with Bud not knowing, specially when he started crying and didn't know why. That choked me up good. Great emotional work, man I was floored when the Vangaurd team got mowed down by Master Megs before he became Galvatron.

Flame Convoy was one cool take on Death Ghidorah with out the wings. Hey it's who he reminded me of. His deal of finally joining up, being bossed around by Lori (man did she get creepy in the series for a human), and when finally joined I am sorry but him yelling "Quit fucking around!" just made me have to pause the vid to laugh (yeah I know not right time but still I had to) Great sub work by TV-Nihon by the way, that really did help me enjoy it more.

When was the last time a Convoy/Megs fight ever got yah to the edge of your seat. (yeah I got spoiled a little reading spoilers but seeing it is another thing.) Man though did I get antsy waiting on the last ep to see what condition GC was in. Heck even the final ep, though just showing where everbody was going afterwards was really enjoyable. Flame Convoy vs Ligerjack in a ring, I got a kick out of that. Man I am gonna miss this show. I need a multi-region DVD player, I want to get this series subbed on disc.

Yeah I enjoyed G1 & Beast Wars, yet this up there now in my top 5, G1, Victory, Beast Wars, Galaxy Force, Zone. Yeah I liked Zone yet hated seeing some fav Destrons die in that, and though sounds werid thank you Predaking your loss proved that TF's aren't just walking piles of scrap that need a pilot (his brain duh)

I think I'll be having withdrawals till the next series. Yes I know we still got Cybertron but after finishing GF, I'll only be nitpicking and really doubt we'll see the real ending to the series in Cybertron. (bet they will edit Vector Prime's death as well)

Never watched it so my comments are pretty much useless.
Sounds like it's way better than Cyberton and it's funky dubs though.

You beat me to the punch Valk. I distinctly remember that a lot of the fandom was not impressed at all with Energon when it aired (myself included).

Galaxy Force has been the best new TF show Ive seen in the last 5 years:

    1) The Kids were not total annoying pains in the skid plate and had some decent character development.
    2) The story was paced pretty well (other than the speed planet saga)
    3) The Decepticons were evil not quasi evil not the diet coke of evil. Plus they were also not one dimensional either.
    4) Starscream was bad ass for a change.
    5) The ending is the best of any TF series Ive seen (that's ended and not continuing in some other series). For once you get to see what happens to everyone after the series end. Everything is tied up very nicely.

Now there were some things about GF that annoyed me. Early on the kids did. The over use of stock footage (transformations, force chip activation, leaving the base, etc). I understand why they used it and Im not saying they shouldn't have used it but for me it was over used esp early on ... the last half was much better.

Overall Im very pleased with Galaxy Force.

This show did so many things right. It had the kids who actually served a purpose beyond exposition, in fact they were an integral part of the team. At the same time, they never really took over the show, and they managed to stay out of the way of the battles.
The show had a great blend of humour, drama and action. It never got too slapstick, nor did it get so obsessed with its plot that it became stale.
The animation was very well done, and for the most part consistent from one episode to the next with very few errors. The characters could display emotion, and little gestures and body language weren't neglected, which really helped to bring things to life.
The background music was also very well done, with some very nicely composed pieces that really fit the mood of the scene. Unlike Super Link, the music was also not so repetitive (or when it was reused, it was not obviously so). One thing I liked was how the combination sequences and other stock sequences did not always use the same piece of music - sometimes, they merely carried on with what was playing previously. This helped everything gel a lot more.
Oh, and the ending rocks. It brings a lot of closure to the show, while also leaving enough open to carry on should the writers have wished it.
There were loads of things I loved about the show, though. It wasn't perfect - no show is - but it deserves to be rated up there with season 1 of G1 and Beast Wars.

Flame Convoy! The most interesting chareter I have seen come out of Transformers for 3 years.
The look! The show was true to almost every square mm of the figures, also the designs were just awsome altogether.
And overall the story was quite good, I enjoyed the fact there were like 45 main charecters.

Pretty much what everyone said about it, but here are a couple of things I liked.

    -Soundwave having his traditional voice
-Soundwave and Noisemaze using their speciality (espionage) while fighting their opponents. Their last battle with the Vanguard Team especially showed this.
-Master Galvatron. Master Megatron was cool, but Galvs was just plain CREEPY, especially in the start. The way he acted so frightenly calm...*Shivers*
-The end fight. It was right up there with Armada and Beast Machines.

Almost everything. The animation looked wonderful and the character designs themselves all looked awesome. The character personalities and development like Flame Convoy, that part where Galaxy Convoy was having doubts and Vector Prime punched him in the face, Vector Prime's death was also pretty dramatical. I don't know why everyone thinks G1 Starscream is so cool, seems like a pansey compared to GF Starscream. The way he took down all the Cybertrons and became Super Starscream, and it's cool that he survived all the way to the end where Guardshell and Demolisher go find him even though it wasn't shown. Master Megatron/Galvatron is the coolest leader since BW/BM Megatron. He was just evil to the core. And his four followers were cool, always good for some humour. I could go on and on but what's the use, you already know that I think this series is awesome. I have now vowed that even on my small collecting budget I will get every show character in this series! :D

though I've only seen the first half of Cybertron, I understand that it's mostly the same so I guess I can post here

-the music: this is some good stuff! Even better than the Energon soundtrack which I thought was great! I must admit, I didn't think "Call You" would be a good song but it totally blew me away. Didn't know themes were like that! I hope the other themes are just as good
-models: toy accuracy is always a plus, though the savage claw mode thankfully looks better in the show..intersting that they had Prime's head lever though
-Story: For some reason, it's just better...can't really put a finger on it
-transformation sequences: though overused, they're the best looking pieces of animation I've ever seen! Who needs instruction manuals when you have live demos XD
-Megatron: this dude just OWNS. period. I love how he has this aura of fear that just forces people into submission (Snarl and Undermine anyone?). I also love how he just OWNS various characters. Scattorshot, Undermine, Optimus, and especially the vanguard team

Overall I thought GF was not bad, good but not great, would maybe rate it middle of the pack along with RiD and Masterforce.

Characters I liked, Starscream was a defiant highlight for me in this series as he was more like the Screamer of old and they used him in the series quite well, a definite plus. Not to mention he possessed a more dynamic and interesting personality then most of the other cast members. Also liked Chromia as well, she was one of the better aspects of the more lighthearted side of GF and the humor between her and Lori was one of the few things funny I actually liked. Was also great to see Soundwave back in action despite his limited role.

Story, GF was the first TF show really since BW that had anything close to a half decent story and plot. While I still thought the characters and dialoged were flat, the overall story is probably the best we’ve seen in a TF show in years. Liked the concept as well with the whole Cyber planet keys as well, and unlike Armada actually pulled off the “race for_____” theme pretty well.

Action. Also liked a lot of the action and battle sequences as well in GF. GF was defiantly jam-packed with lots of butt kicking robot fighting action which always goes down well in my book :D

Music- Wile I mostly disliked the background music I absolutely love the into’s and outro’s to GF :rock

Animation- Wile the CG took some getting used to (especially CG blended with cell anime) I though the animation overall looked great, very solid and consistant throughout the series

All I can think of for now, overall though I would say GF was great in overall story and action. Like I said maybe not up there with BW but a massive improvement over Armada and Energon.
