Yeah, just that. What are the CHUG-scaled toys that you want a 3rd Party Company to make?
A better way to phrase this question, since Hasbro has released updated versions of so many G1 figures recently we’re now coming back around on updates to figures that already received classics-style updates, might be:
what classics-type figures do you think a 3P could do that would be a big enough change / improvement from official figures that you would consider buying?
because it’s gonna be an uphill battle for anyone trying to compete with the official stuff right now, unless there’s some clear differentiation (like MMC’s focus on comics designs, or Planet X and the WFC/FOC games).
Yeah, that's basically the point of the question. Here is an edited version of the question
Which toys do you say that a third-party company should update and make the updated toy CHUG-scaled?
Missing from my roster:
Rack n Ruin
Shockwave (waiting for OS KO)
Soundwave (waiting for OS KO)
Misfire (OK with OS KO)
Sluglinger(OK with OS KO)
Triggerhappy(OK with OS KO)
Considering how little I care for Hasbro's strict adherence to the G1 aesthetic, I'd take practically anyone so long as the design's stylized enough.
I'd like a voyager upscale of the newage Megatron or an original gun Megatron design that perhaps has a third sci fi alt mode or blablaba.
Something like that
A better Hun-gurr that is CW compatible would be nice too.
This is where I feel 3p's could still play a role: in creating better toys of characters that already had a chug toy and aren't likely to get a new time soon.
For one thing characters from any era not just G1 that HasTak aren't gonna touch for a while if at all. Such as Monstructor
What about the remaining Powermasters? Like Slapdash (perhaps called "Ramshackle") and Lube *snickers*.
And maybe the remaining Micromasters? Like Erector *giggles*.
Okay. Gotta Keep this Mature.
Also, someone needs to create a Good CHUG-scaled gun mode Megatron. They can have it appear to only become a tank with some extra artillery cannons, but there are some tabs and panels which secretly become the gun mode (to keep it safe). Here is my idea for the gun-robot conversion that can be extremely simplified.
Take off the Scope/Fusion Cannon (An obvious thing to do) along with the rail for the scope.
The Gun Barrel folds to the back via an armature disguised as just a panel.
Slide the trigger section into the torso which sort of auto-morphs the head which was hidden under the fusion cannon's rail (which comes with the cannon.)
Slide the handle into place and split the legs from each other.
Fold the legs into place.
Fold out the arms and the second fake hammer on the right shoulder.
Reattach the fusion cannon onto the right arm via a 5 mm port.
Now, after that, you might wonder why I asked you to remove the rail as well. You see, the rail can just store under the fusion cannon or it has 2 other ways of storage. One is attaching it on the nearly flat back of the figure horizontally (with a cutout for the armature of the gun mode). The 2nd way is by turning it into a shield, like most Earthrise figures when they had a bit of partsforming. It also comes with the extended barrel and the extended stock, which become the artillery cannon like the Masterpiece Megatron has.

Complete the Scavengers (Fulcrum, Crankcase, easier to find than HasTak Misfire )

Some solutions to cover the hollow legs of CW and TR toys that transform by having the legs split apart would be nice too.
I don't see how you would do it for the Octane mold for example, but I think it should be possible for the Rook mold and maybe others.
I'd also love G1 accurate ER Ironhide sized 87 Headmasters if Hasbro had no plans to redo them.
For my part, as I think "classics" G1 figures are a losing prospect for any 3P at this point, I'd love to see an updated take on Car Robots characters (RiD 2001). Hasbro or 3P. But there's probably only like me and three other people who would care, so it's not likely to ever happen.
G1/cartoon style 3P combiner torsos for Combiner War limbs. I'm about to make my own, but it'd be nice if someone else did it from a real factory.
Voyager IDW Nova Prime.
excludes Maketoys deluxe version and MMC voyager version.
Sense or no sense, I don't care. Since none of this is likely to happen anyway. I want a G1, van-style, voyager sized (6.25" minimum), non-partsforming Ironhide and Ratchet.
"but that would make him as tall as Siege/ER Soundwave!"
Hmm, good point.
So, the second figure I want is a g1, cassette-player-form, 7" voyager sized Soundwave. With tapes that don't have stubby legs.
IDW Skyquake and Predators
MTMTE Cyclonus (done well)
Rack N' Ruin
Whale Tidal Wave
Requiem of the Wreckers Impactor
Honestly, if CHUG deluxe/voyager sized figures aren't financially viable for 3Ps to make (just look at the mixed reactions of LT BB Prime being around $70), then they might as well try and fill in the gaps of larger characters such as:
Energon Wing Saber (maybe Fanshobby will get on that...)
BM vehicon generals
Maximus Ambus (still getting the IF one but I'm sure there's people that want a CHUG scale one)
A rerelease of igear’s Teletraan 1 would be cool, with extra panels to expand the set. Also a release of their canceled Decepticon base would be great. I know igear itself is no more but they supposedly still exist as different companies and the molds for the Autobot set must still exist and someone has gotta still have the files for the Decepticon parts.
And if some company could do diorama sets of the Axalon and Darksyde for the Kingdom figures it would be amazing.
Beast Wars Cybershark.
Lots of Beast Wars characters in fact, particularly the ones that never appeared in the show.
That CW compatible Onlaught and Motormaster that was never made...
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Give us CHUG scale Action Masters that do transform. For many of those AM only characters, that tiny nontransforming figure is the only toy they’ve ever gotten. Hasbro isn’t touching them. Let’s be real. This would probably be one of the “safest” CHUG targets that won’t step on Hastak toes.
