And I realised that there is not MUCH left from US catalogs for CHUG.

Assuming all Targetmasters are included in Titans return (two of the three Autobots are in doubt), the most prominent missing characters include:

• Runabout
• Punch/Counterpunch
• Abominus
• Predaking
• Pirahnacon
• Deluxe Insecticons

(and Omega Supreme is in line for 2018 I guess)

I have a hunch that PotP will be focus on Onyx Prime and beast modes, and the missing combiners would be a great fit.

Gimmick-wise, I suspect we are getting a return of Energon's powerlinking.

However, even with Beast modes and powerlinking, I can't imagine what lineup we can expect.
What character might join PotP?
Victory characters? Unicron Trilogy characters? BW characters?

Beast Wars characters would be nice. Just because some shitty redos of Dinobot and Cheetor didn't sell (because they were shitty) doesn't mean new better molds won't. Yeah you can say Rhinox and Rattrap were poor sellers, but even though the characters themselves were awesome, newcomers and kids would surely be more likely to go for the dinosaur or scorpion rather than a fluffy bunny.

I am impressed!

 

I'd like some more beast characters (at least Cheetor, dinobot, abrazor, tigatron, Megatron, and primal), and more IDW comic inspired characters. For example, a more IDW inspired Prowl figure would be pretty cool, and repaints as smokescreen and blue streak would be good reuses. Also, a voyager IDW Optimus Prime is kinda necessary, right?

 

Well hopefully we get at least a few more cassettes in. Such as Eject, Ramhorn, Rumble(Frenzy), & heck even Ratbat & Sunder! So many missed opportunities there.

Maybe even expand upon already existing subgroups in the Legends line that Hasbro has failed to complete. Such as Rollbar, Wideload, Barrage, Ransack, Outback, and Beachcomber to name a few. (Based on the rumors of us getting a Titans Return Searchlight, Freeway, Hubcap, & Seaspray)

Of course being called Power of the Primes I expect Primes, especially Rodimus Prime. But of course I would love to see The Fallen/Megatronus Prime and Solus Prime get CHUG figures too. Hell why not Prima, Nova Prime, & Zeta Prime! You could even give us a nod to Combiner Wars with Nexus Prime.

I like the idea of this being very Cybertron in layout, with figures representing the Original Thirteen Transformers. That would be fun to collect.
Could even mean the likes of Beastformers popping up, give us the likes of Terrorsaur, Inferno, or Quickstrike from Beast Wars and still give us more G1 beastformers like Catilla, Carnivac, or even the Predacons and Terrorcons for more Combiner Wars fun!

With a mix of Target Master and Combiner gimmicks:

 

I'm in the same boat. If beast wars is next in line, I'm gonna take a break from hastak.

 

I say give us a JG1 centric line, Leader Star Saber with his smaller robot mode intact and with a titanmaster instead of a brainmaster (fingers crossed), then put G1 to bed and move on for a while, or at least give some other generations some love, while still doing G1 stuff. BW, (old) RID and The Unicron trilogy.

 

With the introduction of 'Titan Master' sized toys (adding to the Legend, Deluxe, Voyager, Leader and Titan Class sizes already established) Titans Return is on its way to a total figure count in excess of 80. 80!

If you think Beast Wars could fill an entire line of 80 toys, you're crazy. If Power of the Primes were to have a 'beast' theme, that would include bots like the G1 Dinobots, Predacons and the other myriad of G1 beast-themed combiners.

I want this more than anything, but I'm worried, since it's unlikely we'd have 5 waves of new moulds all in the same colour. Sludge could probably be a leader, to accomodate his bigger dino-bits.

Either we'd have to see different sized dinobots, or (better) a boxset similar to Devastator (without the combination). Considering a chunk of engineering and costs went to making Devastator a functioning combiner at a decent price, it shouldn't be too costly to make 5 voyager (larger) sized dinobots with all the engineering solely dedicated to their individual toys.

 

The "Unknown Evil" Deathsaurus option should be the choice in the vote for anyone after a new Grimlock. It's a retool opportunity Hasbro wouldn't likely skip.

 

A licensed CatDog figure that transforms into an Ouroboros dragon...they're going to make what they're going to make, these things have likely already been decided. Still, I would really like to see what they do with Predaking, if they should choose to make one. I can't quite justify the close to $500 it would cost to buy MMC's Feral Rex, though that set looks to be quite hard to top.
