Dipping back into the Bay era, an Epps and Sideswipe storyline always seemed like a missed opportunity. They both had swagger (what little we saw of Sideswipes) to carry a funny action packed buddy buddy movie. Sort of thing bay might have actually done well too. Bad Boys with robots!

 

They literally made a solo film in 2018.

I'm sure Bay would be more than willing to give them their own spinoff film.

You got some neat ideas even good casting for the Battlechargers and don't forget Mike was Hank Hill too.

 

There's not really many individual characters that can warrant a movie......but.....

there are plenty of factions/subgroups that could.

Dinobots
Wreckers
The Scavangers
Combiner subgroups too

But the real issue is being able to get them to move past the need of including Optimus and or Bumblebee in the movie.

 

If we really aren't able to get a Optimus Prime movie, I feel I'd wanna have a movie that focuses on Megatron or any Decepticon. Seeing the Joker movie be a success, I'd love to see how Megatron went on the path of Destruction and managed to build the army. I feel really I'd wanna see a Decepticon movie for bots like how Soundwave started and became loyal, how Starscream joined the cause and grew into his treachery.

 

A movie focused on Dinobot's arc from Beast Wars would be great IMO. Hope he'll be the main focus in the new BW movie.

I've seen this before. Very well made

 

Here are some ideas.

Dinobots - Not original I know but hey if there's a chance we can reintroduce the Dinobots in the live action setting in the new reboot universe this is a good moment to do so. They can adapt elements from Marvel and IDW for their characterizations and story and set up Shockwave as the main villain for them.

Ultra Magnus - I feel like the type of character he is can work for a solo movie for him. He's a soldier that follows the rules a lot by the book but also has doubts of him living up to the type of hero Optimus is. You can have Sixshot be his Nemesis too.

Star Saber - You can't go wrong with a robotic space knight facing off against a robotic dragon like Deathsaurus especially if it's centered in a live actions setting.
