I suddenly remembered small details of a cartoon I used to watch way back in the early 90's - it was about this organization that gave people the dreams they had when they slept, and they flew around on vehicles shaped like pillows; they had a base somewhere in the clouds or something. I think it had villains who were responsible for nightmares, because I remember one episode in particular where they gave Santa Claus a nightmare in which he tumbled down a chimney which turned out to be a massive three-dimensional maze on the inside.
I'd say you imagined it all, but then again, nobody believed me about Gilligan's Planet until I found it on VHS.

That certainly seems like the likely candidate - it even has a Santa Claus episode! If only I could actually watch the episode somewhere to be absolutely certain
I saw Gilligan's Planet on TV when I was a kid In one episode of ALF there were even the characters of Gilligan's Island cartoon But as real life actors of course
YouTube has a few episodes, but not all of them. They don't have the specific Santa Claus episode, which would have helped. I even checked Torrent sites, and they had nothing. This seems like one of those obscure titles that didn't last long (13 Episodes), and very few people remember it, or had the chance to record it. If Demonoid happens to make a come back, I'll check there...since they have a reputation for having the really hard to find stuff.
Midnight Patrol: Adventures in the Dream Zone (intro and title card) - YouTube Not the episode but by the looks of the intro it does look like the serious you described.
Um yeah... because Gilligan's Island was originally a live action show. And holy shit, I remember Midnight Patrol now! Funny how things hide in the recesses of peoples' brains.
