Listening to my favorite gundam music.
A little thing from Raymond Scott...
La Oreja de Van Gogh.
Got stuck on my head for some reason.
Blondie - One Way or Another
They are and always will be the undisputed kings of thrash in my book.
I've been a fan of this band for the better part of a decade. Definitely digging the new album
I'm still a fan of the Simon and Garfunkel version and in a way I prefer it to this one. But come on its Disturbed, I love this band!
I could never get into Thrash Metal. I love a few of the oldschool heavy metal acts like Priest, Maiden and Sabbath and even newer acts like Sabaton and DragonForce but I could never get into guys like Slayer or Cradle of Filth - just never clicked with me I guess. I suppose I'm more of a Power Metal fan.
I think what helps them is that the two versions are a musical example of 'Its not what you say, but how you say it'. Simon and Garfunkel's version is brisk and light so it feels more like shall we say, melancholic reflection on times gone by. Whereas the Disturbed version is a bit slower but far more intense so it feels like someone in an utter rage about something. Same words, totally different experiences.
Those are all great bands and I love power metal too. Very few forms of metal I don't like except some of the real obscure sub-genres. I'm a metal slut I guess.
My vote goes for Metallica... but just by a little bit.
Megadeth - Set the World Afire
Kreator is my favorite thrash band. At this point I greatly prefer non-US bands for my thrash.
Yeah, their first four albums are phenomenal (Ride the Lightning the best).
My all-time favorite Metallica song:
I love Kreator too.
I'm still in New Year mode
