What are the odds of a sequel to G2 done with characters in more classic appearance?

With the Engeron universe having both Transformers and G.I Joe and the live action films verse also having that they could have a cross over with Larry Hama G.I Joe with Simon furman Transformers.
If the G2 forms are not too popular then they can change them to more classic look.

What do you all think ?

A G2 revival? Chances are never zero, but I'd say close to it.

Furman already did Regeneration One as a "second try" sequel to the G1 comics, and other than recycling a few concepts he more or less set aside the G2 comic and did something different with Regeneration One. I don't believe he's particularly fond of the G2 comics compared to his other work on transformers, so I'd think he'd prefer to do something different.

I'd love to see another Hama/Furman crossover storyline for gi joe/transformers, but it doesn't seem especially likely. Maybe we'll get a special miniseries or something in skybound, but I doubt it. Skybound seems interested in having other people play in their shared universe, at least for now.

What would be the point of having G2 versions but switching them out for G1 ones? Just stick with G1 if that's the case.

I'd love a return to the G2 grimdark setting and a G3 that bridges the original set of series with the Beast era but I know full well it's a bit too fanwanky to really bother with too, G2 never really went anywhere outside of the short Marvel run so I don't think there's much financial incentive to revisit it outside of toy redecos unfortunately. It was the Beast Machines of its day and both are periods Hasbro wants to forget happened by and large.

    I’d rather have a Regeneration 2.

It would start with #81 but would go in a completely different direction to Regeneration One. The story would be set immediately after G1 #80 and would be a prologue to the Marvel G2 comics setting up a direct connection between the G1 comics and the G2 comics.

    #81 - #84 would be new issues
#85 - #96 would be the original twelve G2 comics renumbered
#97 - #100 would be new issues detailing the aftermath to the original G2 comics.

If they were going to do a fanservice project like this, they might as well just do a comic-book adaptation of "Alignment." Or possibly flesh it out with a few opening arcs involving the several pre-"Alignment" crises on Cybertron it alludes to. (It playfully provides the premise for a handful of off-page arcs.)

    1. Combat Hero Optimus and tank Megs are both awesome awesome looks.
    2. What would be the point?
    3. How many characters are left after all the deaths throughout g2 to be reverted back into a G1 marvel appearances in the first place?
    4. We kinda already know how the marvel universe ends after g2, omega point and/or beast machines and sequels of beast machines that don't conflict with the marvel comics if your feeling spicy. There's alignment too.

Yeah, we already have a pretty definitive story and ending for this whole G1 universe. G2-->Alignment-->Beast Wars/Beast Machines.
(Or alternately Regeneration One, on its own track.)

I wouldn't object to seeing some of that bridge gapped in comic form though, especially since Alignment is right there, but I'm not sure what's what OP was asking.

Well, you said that if the G2 looks aren’t too popular, they can just switch them out for their Marvel G1 looks. However, doing that would defeat the purpose of labeling the comic as G2.
lmao I have trouble understanding his questions sometimes too

I think he’s asking if they could do a G2 revival that starts with a TF x GIJ crossover (I think between the original Marvel TF run and the ongoing/continued Hama Joe run) like the original comic did, and that if the G2 designs aren’t popular, they could change them to their G1 looks… which would make it a G1 comic.

I have talked to furman and he may be up for it but it may depend if Skybound and Hasbro would let him.
