Transformers 3? It wouldn't be the first time a major movie franchise swapped out subtitles for numbers in a sequel, IE:

Jurassic Park,
The Lost World: Jurassic Park,
Jurassic Park 3

Alien,
Aliens,
Alien 3,
Alien Resurrection

I'm only bringing this up because in June of 2008 TF2's full title was revealed, and here we are, almost in September and there's nothing so far. There was even that really early teaser poster spotted in Chicago with Prime towering over the "TF3" metallic logo. What do ya'll think? I wouldn't be surprised if they have a few in-progress subtitles, that they haven't decided against yet. On the other hand I wouldn't be surprised if TF3 ended up being Transformers 3-D, either. It would fit snuggly onto a toy's box art.

 

It could be a posibility. I don't care if it's just Transformers 3 or Transformers: [Insert Title]

 

Given how Hollywood is wanting to pimp out 3D to lure people away from their home theater systems and into the theaters my guess is the title will be Transformers 3D.

 

Well we don't know the plot yet so we can't really think of an appropriate title. Either way's fine I guess.

Not enough details on the story to guess a title, but I'd pick Hiraga's Transformers 5 story's name - Transformers: Worlds at War.

 

I've been thinking "TF 3D" is a strong possibility for a while. Although I remember someone in some interview mentioning they deliberately avoided going with TF2 because it was "lame" compared to using a subtitle, so if they want to stick with that insanely awesome Baysplosiontastic line of reasoning, there'll be a more full title. And I hope there is, because I prefer it.

My favorite recent franchise titling model is the Pirates of the Caribbean series - right from the start they had the series title with a subtitle, so the first one didn't even seem out of place with just the series title and nothing else.

 

Im guessing its gonna be Transfromers 3D .... or will use the word 3 and d some way in the name like the new 5inal Destination film is doing.... guess we will see.

I kinda hope it gets a cool name and donsent stick with 3D.

 

I would hope it isn't Transformers 3D. That is so lame and so overdone. I'd much rather it just stay Transformers 3 and have a tagline or something.

i would hate that so much if thats what they picked, its so stupid! and not all theatres are going to have it in 3D as far as i know. plus i hate the 3D

 

transformers: all are dead. or, as a more "friendly" i guess title, transformers: fallen heros

since we think shockwave will be the main villan.

I really hope it's not Transformers: 3D, that would just sound so lame. Honestly, I hope they give it a cool subtitle.

 

As long as they don't name it that crappy name that was shown in that fake poster. They can call it TF3, that wouldn't bother me.

 

Oh I agree Transformers 3D would be a horrible name, but Hollywood is so bad about jumping on some bandwagon until they run it in the ground.

Down the road somewhere when Hollywood has more experience with 3D it might be a good film making tool. Right now though I haven't found many films that are worth paying extra for 3D so they end up on my Netflix instead.

 

How about this title, great for marketing:

TRANSFORMERS 3: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN PART 2-THE FALLEN RETURNS... IN 3-D! (Did we mention it was in 3-D!)...
