The character names in this context rather spoil the conceit of the series

If they continue to follow the light novels as they have, then we can probably expect season 2 to have little to nothing regarding Shun and his group. Hopefully that will assuage some worries.

I finished Sentouin, Hakenshimasu! I was so disappointed by this show. I would have rather gotten a 3rd season of Konosuba. I never laughed.

Continuing my Yu-Gi-Oh watching, and Yugi has finally beat Pegasus.
Duelist Kingdom was such a ride. Every duel has the players making up effects and rules for their cards, then the opponent counters with their own made up effects....

I have been watching Non Non Biyori repeat. It is so hilarious and calming.
I am also watching Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A’s. I can see how it is a little like Senki Zesshou Symphogear. I always think Fate will start singing "Imyuteus Ame no Habakiri tron"

Japanese, for consistency, since I watched allthe other YGO in japanese.
That said the dub names are still ingrained in my mind.

Glad to hear it. The show's not perfect as some duels drag on for too long, but the soundtrack makes the show quite epic despite the annoying changes from the manga. It's just a shame they royally botched the Memories arc.

Demon slayer movie hits dvd in japan. Sells 1 million copies right away! 804,079 discs on first day alone! Yes dvds are still big in japan. They still have dvd stores and video rental stores there!

Demon Slayer Film Sells Over 1 Million Blu-rays, DVDs in 1st 3 Days - News - Anime News Network

Neat thing about japan video rentals is other then movies and games you can rent cds and mangas also!

Here is a video of two.

Manga all over and in dollar stores, Top 4 films at the box office are anime, universal studios has anime based rides and dvd rentals still a big thing.

Man sometimes i get jealous of japan! Lol.

Also note it did huge numbers despite the piracy. Almost like this "piracy hurting the industry" argument was never that strong, at least when you give your customers the accessibility for your products.

Nah, piracy definitely hurts the industry. That's the whole reason Nanbaka will not get a third season.

Wasn't it just because the author was pissy about it?

I just finished Seijo no Maryoku wa Bannou Desu. I really enjoyed it. I wasn't even planning to watch it.

Watched and finished 2 shows from the Spring season: Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song- and 86.

I have conflicting feelings on Vivy. The first 6 episodes are just fantastic. They set up a powerful story with great animation, an endearing protagonist, and some edge-of-your-seat moments. It really felt like a grand thriller. If the quality here had been maintained throughout, it would’ve been something special.

But the last 7 episodes just don’t capture the same feel. 7-9 came off like a convoluted detour, and the final arc and ending have some uneven pacing (starting slow, but then lacking enough breathing room to really feel satisfying at the end).

The ending itself isn’t bad or anything; the show certainly does accomplish the major goals it sets out in the beginning. It just didn’t feel as strong as the first half of the show did. I don’t know, it’s just sad getting really hyped and into a show just for it to not entirely work out.

Also, there’s a very notable plot-hole that never gets explained, though it’s certainly possible to put the pieces together on your own and sort of make sense of it. Emphasis on sort of.

Vivy herself is good waifu material though, which as we all know is the thing that matters the most here

As far as 86, I don’t know if I’m just not getting something, but I thought it was a really bland show. No character feels multi-dimensional or memorable, the world feels so small and poorly-explored (arguably the biggest sin a military/war show can commit), and all it really has to offer thematically is “racism bad”.

Maybe things get better beyond what was adapted here (and I know there’s going to be a second season), but I just don’t get the appeal here.

Ah right, I wanted to binge watch it. I enjoyed the chapters of the manga that I did read, but didn't want to spoil myself since I knew there was an anime coming out. Glad to hear that it'll be enjoyable.
