    Really? nice!

just started this, it's great but very very twisted. ep 6's handling of "internet tough guys" might be my favorite thing ever.

Gaogaigar in particular is quite good, but it's a bit slow to get going. The first half is fairly slow, typical kids' show formula fare, with very little plot/character progression. Although it still has its moments, with some fun interactions between the robot characters (the humans are pretty one-note in the first half), and some clever bits where it actually analyzes and deconstructs a number of classic super robot tropes and trappings. But at the mid-season point, the show sees a major formula shake-up, and that's where things really kick into high gear, surging forward with super robot energy on a level fairly on-par with even Gurren Lagann. The Gaogaigar Final OVA series that wraps everything up is an even further notch above.

Major epilepsy warning for the first half of the series though. All the villain planning scenes in that first half are filled with an insufferable strobing effect that is absolute murder on the eyes, even if you're not particularly photosensitive. Watch with the lights on, if you know what's good for you.

I've not really had much interest in checking out anything else of the franchise, however. As I understand it, the other series in the franchise are decidedly more low-brow, with no real aims to elevate themselves beyond the childrens' anime cliches.

Watching Tenchi Muyo on the Funimation app.

I've known about Tenchi since 2005, how did it take this long for me to realize a significant amount of the English vocal cast was in Digimon?

Man, that was a good one. Micron Densetsu and Armada are good standalone series.

I do not like Armada but I love Micron Densetsu.

I just been feeling the need to rewatch old TF series. I will probably watch Headmasters, Masterforce and Victory next.

The most recent Re:Zero episode. Despite cutting/playing over the opening/ending, not to mention often being longer-than-standard episodes, I always wish they were longer.

Also, I had forgotten Crunchyroll had started putting up dub episodes, so now I'm catching up on the ones they have currently.

Speaking of Japanese Transformers series, I have, for one reason or another, been obsessed with the idea of TRIGGER making a Transformers anime after seeing the TFW thread on Studio TRIGGER.
