Does anyone know? I got a 3d printer and want to go beyond Tinkercad.

Would it be a CAD software or something like blender?

Probably CAD, since the models are used to make molds. I'd imagine they use something like Blender or Maya or something for the full design though, and then make the individual parts in CAD.

Not sure about toy design specifically, but
Solidworks is industry standard in a lot of design fields.
If you don't want to shell out, fusion 360 is a good stepping stone

I'm trying to remember my conversation with the Hasbro designers at Hascon. My memory on this is fuzzy so bare with me. I think the initial model is made in 3DMax or the equivalent. For Marvel Legends they use freelancers to design the models and the designers make it more toy-like by adding joints. I don't think I ever asked what program they use to do that but I did see them working with it and it definitely was a CAD program like Catia or Solidworks. I was kind of hoping for another Hascon so I could ask more questions and make sure I'm not just unintentionally talking out of my butt. Some days I hate my lack of memory.
