Just started playing with the soldier, up to level 11. I find the Neutron Assault rifle better than the scrapmaker so far. I think it’s because of it’s long wind up. I have both these guns as my weapons. My perks are 1. The ability that reduces splash damage, Sharpshooter I believe it’s called. 2. Flak Armor 3 Weapon stabilizer. My 2 abilities are whirlwind and the ability jammed option.

I play as a soldier in Code and Countdown. because they can really help blow a gaping hole in the enemy base for the scout to rush in and do their thing.

    Pursuit: lvl 22 soldier
    X12 Scrapmaker
    Neutron Assault Rifle

    left bumper/2: Energon Sling
    right bumber/2: Whirlwind

    Abilities:
    P.O.K.E. Alpha
    I think flak armor
    Ammo+ thing.

What I do when playing as Pursuit is either defensive or offensive.

Defense I set up shop by finding some cover and waiting to strike unsuspecting scouts/jets

When a scout's cloaked and moving in to grab the Code/plant the bomb I throw the sling so I can cancel their dash before they abuse it.

Then I simply take shots at them with the scrapmaker and if they have buddies protecting them I whirlwind em (P.O.K.E. Alpha is really useful)

Offense is different. I would just take shots at the defending team and when a scouts about to go in I would clear a path (and probably die in the process)

    Depends on your playing style.

EDIT: After looking at the weapons you chose I thought I'd add a side note.
Although the scrapmaker has a long wind up. you can wind it up before attacking someone (start wasting shots on a wall before running in with it spinning at max speed)

    Hope I helped somehow :p

I use the EMP shotgun as my main and the Scrapmaker as a secondary.

To be honest I don't play multiplayer alot on WFC with the exception of escalation. My favorite mode doesn't have alot of people on it so I never get to play. :(

I have two favorite builds, one is all heavy weapons with that perk and the other is pure whirlwind. The last I don't use but he's set up around the hover skill.

To be precise, Sharp Shooter reduces weapon spread, making shots fired more accurate.

I haven't given the Assault Rifle a try in MP (mostly because I am absolutely obsessed with Gatling Weaponry, and it works so well for me :p ), but since I'm a complete crapshoot with the EMP Shotgun, maybe I'll swap that out for the Ass. Rifle.

But perhaps Ass. Rifle works so well for you because of the Sharp Shooter perk...

    ...I'll have to experiment.

Yeah, this is what I normally do against opponents who haven't seen me yet. Tears them to bits by the time they notice they're getting shot at.

As for me, the Soldier class, while probably the least interesting, is my fallback class when I simply need to kick butt. Currently, I've two builds (though I'm only level 12 as I type this):

    Dreadnaught: (Melee Specialist)
    Weapons - Scrapmaker, EMP Shotgun
    Abilities - Energon Sling, Whirlwind
Upgrades - P.o.K.E Alpha, Flurry of Blows, Blaster Amplifier
(Will swap out Flurry of Blows for Energon Absorber once I get it)
(May swap out Blaster Amplifier for Rapid Recharge later)

    Baneblade: (Heavy Fire Support)
    Weapons - Scrapmaker, Rocket Launcher
Abilities - Ammo Beacon, Energon Sling
Upgrades - Sharpshooter, Flak Armor, Blaster Amplifier
(Will swap out Sharpshooter for Heavy Weapons once I get it)
