At this point I'm indifferent. I don't love it but I don't hate it either. That may change when I see them in person but for now it's neither a selling point nor a deal breaker.

I’m only getting certain characters, but I’ve got a bottle of rubbing alcohol and q-tips ready for when I get my figures in hand.

I don't like the weathering, and will probably be holding out for a clean re-release on anything that's too heavily done. Flywheels and Shockwave will probably make the cut, Reflector might, the rest are a pass for now.

I'm a rebel so I choose the unseen fifth option.

    (X) - I love to hate them

I really don't care they look cool and there are some characters I'm missing that this line delivers as well as better versions of others I already have.

I like it for the most part, except for maybe Soundwave's cracked chest screen. But I'll wait until I see it in person before making judgement.

The only other one I hate it on is Ultra Magnus' inner bot. He only has it on his thighs, so it looks like he spilled his coffee & doesn't have time to change before work. Since I plan on displaying without his armor most of the time, I'll need to find a way to clean it off.

Also, I'm happy it's not on the new bots, like Skytread & Reflector. Probably the only time we'll ever get them, so it's nice to have them be relatively clean.

I really don't know cause i don't have a figure in hand to make that decision. I'm not happy about it being on there but i don't know. Then again maybe on other figures it might be cool looking.

I'm indifferent. Every TF toy has paint apps I agree or disagree with. I've learned to overlook it entirely.

I'm prejudiced against the abundance of relief detail too to be honest.
But when I think about it CW Swindle had a lot of relief detail too and it doesn't really bother me with him.
Maybe I won't mind it when I got Sideswipe, Shockwave and Soundwave in hand, but I'm certainly not asking for this much greebling or any weathering.

Agreed. Soundwave looks like a chewed up pencil dipped in heavy latex paint.

To be honest I'm not feeling the weathering. Still, I'm excited for many of the toys shown. Looking forward to characters who haven't had a Generations figure yet. I really couldn't see myself replacing any of my older figures with any of these guys, even Ultra Magnus. Which is good.. I won't be spending as much, and being happy with what I have gives me a warm feeling.

Some of it looks great, like Ultra Magnus. Some of it...not so much - Megatron just looks bad.

And because there's no love some/hate some option, I went with "undecided".

The "weathering" effects are occupying a weird sort of half-baked position where they clearly wanted to make these guys look beat-up and worn down, but decided to go barest minimum possible effort, to the point where they should have gone the full mile and just made them optional decals.

I liked the original display paint jobs a bit more than the final release and packaged images. We’ll see once in hand and it might lead to better detailing in the future.

If it was done well Id be 100% for it. But judging from pics so far its going to be hit or miss depending on the figure, its ok. Dont hate it but not the best thing ever either.
