i can't figure out why it's so huge. the siege cassettes are maybe 1/2 the size of their mp counterparts, but soundwave is like, 3/4 the size of his mp. the math doesn't add up.

 

I'm going to wait on the Soundblaster repaint, as I still think the black will end up looking better on the mold than the blue. I might be in the minority, but I actually like his drop ship alt mode.

 

Yeah, the legs are jutting forward because arms are in the way. It'll look pretty bad even slightly off a front angle.

 

Looking at that pic of the back of Starscream, I’m really thinking that they will remold this into the Earth mode jet later in the trilogy.

 

yeah sorry. I don't usually frequent CHUG threads...I'm more of MP kind of guy. I am getting a few of the siege figs tho...they remind me of the original 84 toys quality-wise.

 

It would have been nice if Starscreams wings could flip around so that the smooth side was facing forward. Those hollow-ish wings are depressing. 
The rest of him....he looks like Underbase Starscream. 

 

I have a feeling that Hasbro may look into updating the Soundwave earth altmode - away from the tap deck. My guess is Soundwave as some kind of atmospheric satelite is a possibliltiy or an earth drone jet.

 

Holy shit I love them both. I think SS looks great from all sides and I dig the greebles and the battle damage. SW looks great as well...only complaint might be the hollow forearms and too little battle damage paint, actually. The shattered tape deck door don’t bother me at all.

 

Looks Good. Can't wait for mine to arrive.

How bad Soundwave\'s chest will look after trying to remove that mess, the clear plastic will just turn white.

Hasbro will eventually release a \"clean\" version with red eyes, in some obscure exclusive packed with two other figures no one wants. They should have just let Takara keep having their own version.

 

Glad we finally are getting a decent voyager Seeker mold. I\'ll gladly be picking up every version of that mold.

 

Most of the wave 1 Siege figures had vehicle modes that could still sorta pass for Earth vehicles. Not so much with these guys…That said Starscream’s robot mode is real gorgeous and might be enough on its own. The head sculpt is great and the proportions so much better than the POTP version.

Soundwave I’m less sold on. I already have plenty of Soundwaves with great robot modes and alt modes that are…pretty much just boxes. I’m still waiting for a great modern, reimagined Soundwave.

 

I love these so much, can't wait to get them for myself. I for one am a fan of the surface detail molded into the figures and I also like the battle damage paint for the most part.

 

I personally like the battle damage on Starscream. What’s the deal with the pic where his backpack is coming apart? Is that suppossed to be some mid transformation or gerwalk mode?

As a side note, does anyone else think that Seige is the spiritual successor to the Hasui releases of the MP line? It’s like MP lite- Sideswipe, Optimus, Soundwave, and Starscream take many, many cues from their MP counterparts. And the other releases (ex. hound) fit in with that. Likewise, there appears to be a newfound emphasis on scale, which also started when Hasui took over the MP line.

 

Hard to say. But I saw a video from NY toy fair where John Warden said Hasui worked on Siege Jet/Skyfire, so that sounds plausible to me.

 

Knowing this makes me hopeful a real MP Jetfire will happen one day. The new one looks so much like G1 it's like they took him right off an animation cel.

 

Agreed. He appears to be the best official version we’ve ever gotten...it would take an MP to outdo this guy.

 

Considering the price on the new Prime and Bee, a Takara Masterpiece Jetfire could be $800 dollars.

 

There is not enough battle damage on Soundwave's chest.
