WFC: Siege - Sixgun Size: Deluxe Price: $19.99 Just picked this guy up and have no issues with him. I really just wanted him to go with Metroplex so I'm not expecting a whole lot from him. His alt mode kinda sucks I guess it's supposed to be some sort of jet or spaceship but looks horrible. Not a fan of all the different ways to equip him to other people just like I wasn't a fan of the way they did it for Cog either but they look great next to their monstrous partners. Unfortunately, I'm still at work so I cannot post a picture of him with Metroplex. I really have nothing else to say so, here are the pictures.
I don't like the VTOL mode so I didn't take any pictures of it but, just for you I have added them to the main post.
I'm less interesting in his "it's a aircraft because!" mode and more interested to see if there are ways to peg his bits into Metroplex in city mode like additional buildings. Also: are his red wing-guns the same mold as Side Swipe's missile?
The VTOL mode is cool . It evokes Mazinger Z IMO, so that's pretty sweet. You can peg the VTOL mode on to Metroplex's forearm like how Laserbeak sits on Soundwave's forearm, nice!
No integrating as such, but I saw a fab pic of the vehicle on the helipad the other day: Twitter: https://twitter.com/scottywan82/status/1104348503759863811 And some lovely shots of him tooling up other toys Twitter: https://twitter.com/damnyouwillis/status/1104168440393355265 Twitter: https://twitter.com/Cheetimus/status/1104470726914920448
Identical design, yeah. Just like how Chromedome and Blurr (and the whole subsequent mold family) in Titans Return each had their own instances of that null-ray-ish gun. Such amusing things that can happen now with CAD models and cutting molds with CNC machines so you can get virtually identical pieces on multiple different tool sets!
Chromedome and Blurr though have identical parts trees in that colour - been a while so I'd need a close look to recall which other parts carry over, but it's enough for one sprue. EDIT: Titanmaster's arms and upper & lower leg are also the same colour. There's shared sprues in other colours too: knees, legs, shoulder strurts, Titanmaster's head & body. This is somewhat different because, as far as we can see, there is just one part in common! I can think of a few instances of guns later turning up with other toys but I think this is probably the first time a single part like this has been reused in a completely different toy in the same line.
I like sixgun more than cog for sure, his modes make more sense and he is just more sturdy Official modes Bot mode Alt mode MTX-M2 anti-gravity cannons MTX-S2A guided missile launcher MTX-50 dual flank boost launcher MTX-LR ion-pulse blasters W-5 gyro blasters Defensive loadout Offensive loadout High-precision launcher gauntlet Random modes what I did Also I noticed while doing this that the small red blasters are just slightly retooled versions of Sideswipes blaster, only differences being the color and the length of the peg on the back
How easy is it to get the black guns off the wings? I know they can be removed, just seen very few people doing it.
So torn on this. As a rule I hate parts formers, and every time I watch a video that shows the transformation I cringe as there is no way to salvage the idea of keeping the robot in a single piece and get that altmode. But, unlike a lot of parts formers everything is integrated. And he looks awesome... Decisions decisons... This would be a no brained if I owned Metroplex.
In all seriousness, though I owned Sixgun for all of a few hours before I returned him on account of having one hip feeling like it was fused together, the concept is solid, and being able to armor-up your favorite figures with his many weapons is lots of fun. I can get not liking partsformers if all the parts just do two things: robot or vehicle. But Sixgun, like his fellow Weaponizer Cog, theoretically has infinite uses for his pieces, since they can be re-combined into insane weapon and armor configurations.
